Subject: [SoundDiver] SoundDiver Adaptation for Waldorf Blofeld updated
Message #17951
Hi folks, I've updated the SD adaptation for the Waldorf Blofeld. Please consult the Readme for details and if you are on Windows take note especially on the workaround necessary due to the buggy USB-MIDI driver supplied with all versions of Windows since WinME. I've also added a link to Waldorfs INI-File so that the Blofeld will be recognized as "Waldorf Blofeld" instead of "USB Audio Device" (this previously required manual poking in the registry). Users of the OSX Beta2 should edit the checksum entries as detailed in the Readme and also check that the Entry Increment for all bank drivers is set to 1 and not 256 (this is a big/little endian conversion issue that SD seems to get wrong sometimes). You will know this is wrong when you can only request the first sound in all banks. http://Synth.Stromeko.net/Downloads.html#WaldorfSDada BTW, if you get the dreaded "Text not found" message at startup, rename the "Universal Module Cache.PRF" file in the Diver folder, then start SD, close SD and let it save the Preferences file - this will rebuild the cache and clean up any remnants from the main preferences. Unless one of the adaptations or modules has a bug that triggers this message it should now be fine. Subject: DOEPFER DREHBANK , KORG T3 , SEQUENTIAL PROPHET 600 and SOUNDDIVER 3.1.0 public beta 2 OS X
Message #17957
Hello all- I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. I am using the Public Beta 2 version of SoundDiver 3.1.0 on a Power PC G5 with LOGIC 7.2 loaded. I have been able to successfully use SoundDiver with a Waldorf Microwave XT (SD crashes sometimes) and a DOEPFER POCKET DIAL (no problem) but have had trouble in getting anywhere with SD with a few other units. Specifically I am having trouble using SD with a Korg T3, Sequential Circuits Prophet 600 and a DOEPFER DREHBANK. When I try to install the synths (T3 & P-600) SD scans the computer and then displays a message saying "No new devices found.....". I select the button on the bottom of that prompt that says MANUALLY and then the synth shows up on the list of devices. I then double click on the devices and set the MIDI INPUT and OUTPUT ports to the correct port and click on BUILD LIBRARY-->ALL ENTRIES to retrieve the patch library and then I get another error message saying :"SYSEX COMMUNICTIOAN ERROR SYNTH DID NOT RESPOND ...". I am sure that the MIDI connections are OK because I am communicating ok with them when not using SoundDiver. ANY TIPS, SUGGESTIONS, WELCOME AND APPRECIATED. When I try to install the DOEPFER DREHBANK I get a different message that reads:" ! MODEL DREHBANK CANNOT BE SCANNED EITHER BECAUSE THIS IS TECHNICALLY IMPOSSIBLE OR BECAUSE THE ADAPTATION DOES NOT YET SUPPORT SCANNING.." I click on the button ADD to add manually and the DREHBANK then shows up on the device list. I double click the DREHBANK icon from the device list and then try to BUILD LIBRARY --> ALL ENTRIES and SD does it's thing and says that it is retrieving data from the DREHBANK but after it finishes the list is still blank and when I select an individual empty slot on that list I get a new window from SD that says "THIS ENTRY IS UNKNOWN. REQUEST IT?" . So I click on the button that says OK but nothing happens, no new windows open up. If when I get that last prompt I click on the button that says INITIALIZE I get a window titled:"DREHBANK: Slot E "Slot********". At the top of the window it says "Drehbank: EasySlot = Bytekette von 95 Bytes mit einer Variabien" Also a button that says : "STORE TO EPROM". There are about ten more pulldown settings plus a table list of 48 pull down tabs for MIDISTRING. Needless to mention that I am a bit lost in what I should try next. I would really like to be able to edit patches for the PROPHET and the T3 also to back up the patch library but I really NEED to figure out how to make the DREHBANK play nice with SD because as I am using a MAC there are no other editors for it. Does anybody out there use the SD with the DREHBANK? Any help or tips or suggestions welcome and appreciated. thanks, alex

Subject: [SoundDiver] Sound Diver wanted (+ Logic 5.5.0)
Message #17958
Just bought myself some lovely hardware synths, a TX802 and Microwave, and I like the idea of using autolink... So if anyone has an original Sounddiver disk they wish to sell, please contact me. I'll be using Sounddiver within Mac OS9, so i'm also after an original Logic 5.5.0 install. (I already have an XSkey and L6) I believe the file size is around 18mb, so if anyone can upload L5.5.0 to a file sharer etc i'd be grateful .... ------------------------------------

Message #17963
Hi guys! I have a Roland JV1010 that came with a special edition of sounddiver. Does anybody have it? I lost my CD and editing this JV without Sounddiver is not the easiest thing in the world. :) One more thing! This may not be the most appropriate question so far but as I know you all are musicians I need your feedback and help. I've recently made a remix of Mariah Carey new hit for a competition. I need some votes and of course your feedback. How should I improve my skills? Follow this link and press "Vote" if you like my track. I would appreciate this big time. Subject: [SoundDiver] SD Public Beta 2 not working properly with TX81Z
Message #17974
Hello, I just got an TX81Z on ebay with the intention of using Sounddiver to edit it. So far I haven't used the public beta much as it was very buggy with my Microwave XTk and Alesis Andromeda. At first all seems fine and I can load the Yamaha's sounds and performances. However when I edit sounds the edits are somehow not transmitted to the synth. I also can't audition sounds from the list of patches. I thought this might have to do with my synth but to check I downloaded a demo of MIDIQuest and everything seems to work as expected - editing, auditioning, program change. Any ideas and help would be much appreciated. Cheers Max ------------------------------------
