Out of interest, I have installed the last OSX Sounddiver Beta on my MacBook Pro running Leopard and it's all working pretty well. I have been using Galaxy for years on my OS9 machine for the occasional patch librarian stuff. Sounddiver seems quite good, if a little over complex at first. It's a real pity that Apple have suspended development on this. I imagine the Autolink feature would be of great use to many people. It's a pity. functionality similar to Opcodes system of OMS for MIDI setups Galaxy for Patch Libraries and Vision for sequencing used to work well. How is that in 1995 I had all my modules perfectly described in Galaxy and subscribed to Vision so all my hardware synths banks and names came up correctly in my seqeuncer without me having to type a single letter, and yet in 2008 in Logic Pro 8 I still have to type it all in manually, or copy and paste it from somewhere. Surely Apple could integrate some of Sounddiver into Logic to save us the hassle of this. Sometimes the good ideas die young, a la Avid/Digidesign AudioVision.... I'm sure Apple doesn't care. They're trying to make all hardware synths obsolete so why would they want to support the past? After playing around with Logic 8 for a while and initially being pretty impressed by the built in softsynths, my opinion is still that the sound quality / presence / warmth and immediate no-fuss playability of hardware synths still cannot be duplicated by softsynths. Hi, If you can't redownload the corrupt file, I think you can try an utility called Advanced Zip Repair to repair your Zip file. It works rather well for my corrupt Zip files. Its web address is http://www.datanumen.com/azr/ It is not free, but worth trying when necessary. Alan

I posted the file Kxxx.lib to this group a year or so ago. I just tried to load it back into my Kurzweil K2500RS without success. There is probably something wrong with the file. Please remove K2xxx.zip which is a non-working Kurzweil lib file. I have posted all these sounds and more in the files section of the Yahoo Group KurzSounds. The file is called K2500RS PRGMS- PATCH FARM. The file contains 19 .KRZ format banks that you load onto floppy disks from your PC. Then use the floppy disks to load the sounds to your Kurzweil K2000 or Kurzweil K2500. Fish ------------------------------------

If I bought Logic Studio 8 would I be able to run the Mac OS X 3.1 beta of the SoundDiver Editor/Librarian. Does the Mac OS X 3.1 Beta of Sound Diver require a serial number or dongle? I believe both Mac and PC versions are included on the install/authorising CD, so you'd be looking for a single CD, second-hand (e.g. eBay). I bought a second-hand SoundDiver CD some time ago and it didn't cost a fortune, around GBP30 I think. As a long time user of SD, I wanted a second CD as a backup for my original (you can't simply copy an original, using a disk image or whatever - it won't work!)
