Ok, another question. Becuase I cannot find my V3 for whatever reason I want
to at least get my AMT8 configured. How do I or how should I install the
latest version for my AMT8? Is it a combination of floppies and CD's again?
This is driving me nuts.
Thanks,

Anyone remember if there was a version of UnitorControl for PC? Try
searching Apple's FTP site.

This site has a simple software application for configuring AMT8s and
Unitors :-

Might be for PC only though (contact the author?)

I finally got my KORG Triton-Rack.
So far, I like its sound quality.
But editing it with SoundDiver takes time - one knob movement takes
several seconds. Is there any way to improve this?
Thanks in advance.

Hello everybody!
Maybe someone can help with two things..
A first one is very simple: user manual for SoundDiver 3- I need it and
I can't find any download link.
And a second one is adaptation for Yamaha RY-30 drum programmer.
I have an editor for voices, but FULL adaptation is much better.
Thanks.

Thats because there isnt one. If you purchased Sound Diver you should
have the real manual that came with it.

Hm, I think the free public beta included a manual as PDF.

hello i'm mario from italy i'd like to know if somebody knows the
method to create personal patches for the roland gr50 with
sounddiver.. i only can get sysex from gr .. but i can't send.. gr say
checksum error..on the display . i use win xp professional sp2 and
standard midi/usb midi interface!
tnx for your support bye mario!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi all, a question for the mac techies.
I've had a Roland XP-30 I bought new years ago. The included disc contained
the XP/JV version of SoundDiver and although the original disk version 2
would never work I used the version 3 update that was available from win98
right up to the present with winXP. It's had a few quirks but overall it's
served me well for editing the keyboard for many years now, under windows.
Recently I picked up a Mac powerbook G3 Lombard 333mhz laptop running OS9.
Actually I bought the computer to setup a MOTU MTP II unit I had and though
it's a loooooong story I finally got that rig to work with a Keyspan USA-28X
USB to serial interface. The "X" denotes that the interface has
"external clock", an additional signal that is required for midi.
Now, the other night I thought to myself I should hook up the keyboard to
the powerbook computer and see how the 'ole SoundDiver program looks on the
mac. I couldn't get it to work. Today I downloaded the version 3 update for
OS9 but yet the SoundDiver program can't find or communicate with the
keyboard either through the MTP II or connected directly via a serial cable.
I've tried different configs but just can't seem to get it.
Anyone able to offer some advice here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
for reading.
Does anyone knows anything about Robin Chard?

Hi Greg
I may be wrong - haven't worked for a long time under MacOS 9.2 - but have
you installed
OMS (latest version 2.3.8) and gave it a try?

Hi Groba, I'd actually gotten it to work and did some editing on my XP-30
however it was a real struggle between OMS and FreeMIDI, they both want
control of the "system". What would be really nice now would be to
have a method of switching between the two as I'm not even sure I could do
it again!
I have to switch because the MOTU midi interfaces require FreeMIDI while the
SoundDiver program requires OMS.
Hi Greg
I never worked with FreeMIDI, so I am not familiar with it. I don't know the
MIDI Time Piece
interfaces neither.
At least there is a OMS driver for the MIDI Time Piece (maybe only for
version I ???) usually
under System Folder/OMS Folder/. Is this driver present? When yes - give it
a try and
deinstall FreeMIDI for a change.

hi everyone.
ive been using sounddiver and logic for years and think im going to buy a
mac pro today or tomorrow. but before i pick everyones brain with some
questions about this, i wanted to introduce myself.
some of you may recognize me for my vintage synthesizer dealing- if not,
take a peek at 123synthland dot com if youre curious. or, you may have
noticed my gloved vintage synth demonstrations on youtube (user
123synthland). or not...
anyway, now that ive introduced myself, its time for the next message!
thanks

hi guys. ive been getting some advice on this over on vintage synth
explorer but I'd like some more opinions.
im planning on buying 1 of these immediately:
Mac Pro 4-Core
(2 Dual-Core 2.0GHZ Intel Xeon)
2GB/250/7300GT/SD
Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard
or this:
Mac Pro 4-Core
(2 Dual-Core 2.66GHZ Intel Xeon)
1GB/250/7300GT/SD
Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard
but first i want to be sure im going to be able to run sounddiver on it
along with logic 8. im using a ton of hardware synths so i really need
sounddiver.
im a registered logic and sounddiver user but havent upgraded in a loooong
time. the dongle ive got pre-dates usb (!).
so, id like to know the following:
1. can i successfully run SD on Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard using Rosetta?
2. what problems have you guys encountered / what might I expect?
3. can I use the beta freeware without anything or do I need some kind of
dongle / authorization? i periodically reauthorize from CD, not sure which
version offhand.
4. anything else i need to know?
the VSE thread is here in case anyones interested:

thanks a ton for the help

This is what I have. You really need to put at least 2 more GB of RAM into
it or you'll be experiencing all kinds of weirdness running Logic. Also I
would recommend downgrading to 10.4.11 (if ROM allows you to do that) or
disabling Spotlight out of the box.

Depends on what you mean by "using it along with Logic"... If you
mean the
Autolink mode (or whatever it was called in OS 9), then no, this feature is
no longer available in OS X. If you just want to use SD with your hardware
synths, then the answer is "maybe", as SD OS X was dropped in so
called
"public beta" version, so some adaptations work and some don't.

Then just forget it -- it requires XSKey (no authorization needed, you just
have to insert it in order for SD to launch). The only alternative I can
think of is to run it under Windows using your disk authorization as you did
in OS 9 days (not sure if it will run under Vista though).

Andy

As far as the dongle, I'd suspect that lots of upgraders to Logic 8 don't
use Sounddiver. Perhaps you can advertise to buy one cheap? (logic 8 no
longer requires the dongle)

Bear in mind, anyone upgrading from Logic 5,6 or 7 to Logic 8 needs to
keep their XSKey any time they may need to reinstall logi 8, or revert
back to 5, 6 or 7, or use the sounddiver public beta ....
kind regards

great point there! so who wants to sell me their now useless dongle? :)
though on my old mac, ive got the pre usb dongle and have to occasionally
reauthorize using the original software CD. is it 100% definite that i need
the dongle to use SD on a new mac or will the original program CD do??
thanks

are you sure about this? i heard logic 8 would require no dongle at all, so
it doesnt sound to me like anyone needing to reinstall logic 8 is going to
need that dongle anymore. and as for sounddiver public beta, we all know
thats obsolete software most people in their right minds wouldnt want to use
nowadays anyway! ;) so come on now, whos gonna sell me their xskey? :)

Yes, 100% sure. You cannot install the Logic 8 upgrade without your
XSkey. You don't need the key to run it after it is installed. If you
buy the full version of logic studio you don't need a dongle
