I am afraid your only option is to find an installation CD on eBay as Windows version was discontinued in July 2002. Auction number at ebay.de: 270151831069 The CD is in good state because it´s less used. Shipping price is meant for inside germany (national) only. If your interested your bidding is welcome. But you have to pay the price for international shipping. Well, if you have questions - let me know! Have fun... ;-)= micha

Hello Thomas, I have SoundDiver 3.0 that I have not used in years. I fired it up but see that I do not have a Roland GR-50 Adaption (I just purchased a used GR-50 synth). Could you please advise on how to obtain this? Thank you very much. Ron rlemos@calstatela.edu

Message #17732
Hi, I'd like to know if other users of Mo'Phatt (Proteus 2000 series) have experienced these problems. 1. Only 17 filter types can be selected out of 50. 2. Some note on messages are ignored (some keys don't make sounds). I'm also writing a Morpheus editor, as it crashes my Mac, when filter type parameter is edited. Thanks in advance for any tips. The reason (I think) for this you have to request the filtertypes before you want to edit something. Handshake mode is the best way to deal with the Morpheus.

Subject: [SoundDiver] DM Pro query
Message #17735
Hi there guys I've got the version 2.0 of Sound diver that came free with my DM Pro. First question: Is there a free update to v3? I'm guessing not, but thought I might as well ask. Secondly I have transfered some samples to my Flash card for the DM Pro, but so far have not been able to view those samples through Sound Diver. For example I will upload the samples to a group called 'Test' but that group is not shown along with the others on Sound Diver. I could really do with a decent manual for this as well if any one has one they could send me. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated especially as I know DM Pro users are few and far between now. Smoulders

Handshake mode simply means that both midi in AND midi out of the Morpheus are connected to Sounddiver. It's not something you can set in the Morpheus itself. Some editors want continuous contact with the related synth. And the Morpheus editor is not that stable, you're right about that.

How useful ... It seems that it is better to go to MIDI-Quest site instead. Or, what is currently the most user-friendly and best-selling MIDI Editor/Librarian for Windows.

Thanks. I found I've used handshake. It could have been simpler if SoundDiver had dedicated editors for each version of Proteus, rather than using continuous handshake communication. It sould have worked better. Sealed > Handshake mode simply means that both midi in AND midi out of the > Morpheus are connected to Sounddiver. Concerning the suggestion to switch to MIDI-Quest: MIDI-Quest is a mess. Even setups that come with the program are incomplete. The basic program is bad enough that using the option to write your own links would not be worth the trouble. After communicating back and forth with them trying to get it to even work with one of the machines they show in examples on their web site, I concluded that they never really finished the program. That's why I finally bought SoundDiver; even a using program that is out of business is much better than MIDI Quest, including the "answers" you get from their support. The support for SoundDiver that you find in this Yahoo group is far better than any you will receive from MIDI-Quest. It is not that they do not try; just that they do not have much to work with. If I had not been able to get SoundDiver, I would have written my own using VBA with Microsoft Access, which would be easier than trying to get MIDI-Quest to work. --- In sounddiver-users@yahoogroups.com, "envia94" <akva@...> wrote: > > How useful ... Hi all LUGgers. An issue which arised when I switched up from the beloved OS9 was the creation of midi name files fo my external synths, samplers etc. The removal or replacement of OMS also meant my previous name files were unreadable by ProTools - major pain! Enter a great little app' by the name of "Cherry Picker." I highly recommend it, and it's "donation-ware" also. (Worth every cent of your donation indeed!) In conjunction with Soundiver, Cherry Picker made the creation of midi name files an absolute breeze; Check it out. Regards & Best Wishes, ToK

You can dump your banks into SoundDiver and then select the entire lot in the list and copy/paste those into the environment objects in Logic. Of course you cant do this with both Logic and SoundDiver open or Logic has that nice feature where it starts transposing all your instruments. What I do is just keep a text file handy and copy/paste my banks to that from SoundDiver, then once thats done, go to work in Logic and copy/paste em from my text file into my synth objects there.. --- Chris www.monotrematamusic.com www.descentrecords.com

Subject: Soundiver stopped working
Message #17742
Hey there. My public beta of soundiver suddenly stopped working, without me making any changes to the system I can recall. One day it worked fine, then the next morning just carshes.... I tried doing a clean install bur somehow SD seems to remember my midi setup... I can tell because I can just see my "autoload" (or whatever it's called in soundiver, the page that shows all your synths) before the program quits itself. I'm wondering if maybe this "autoload file is damaged.... Anyone else encountered this? Or tips on how to completely remove all sounddiver files and running a clean install?

Hi, I am not in my studio at the moment, so can't check where all SD files are. However, in your situation I would ffirst repair permissions then delete all SD preferences in your user area (something like info.emagic.sounddiver*** or com.apple.sounddiver***). I seem to remember SD library files are located in the Documents folder in your user area and adaptations are somewhere in Library/Application Support, but I am not at all sure you should ever delete those... Subject: Anyone use SD on OSX with Matrix 1000?
Message #17746
Hi there.... Since the OSX version of sounddiver (beta) I have a problem editting my matrix 6 synth. The main thing is that the modulation matrix doesn't work. This is a shame because this is what makes the matrix range so unique. I am now considering buying a seperate program to edit my matrix. (Unisyn/Midiquest) I was wondering If anyone else has experience with this problem or if matrix modulation does work with sounddiver with the matrix 1000. I could probably trade my 6 for a 1000 and won't have to buy extra software...... cheers , Mason & The Maker

couldn't get my matrix 6 to work on osx. but found a really great editor for it. freeware too. it's called m1000, m2000 something like that AHA googled it http://home.hiwaay.net/~cornutt/Music/Web%20Page/M1000X_home.html I've used it and it works very well. not realtime. but I never got colossal real time editing out of sounddiver anyways. at least on the matric. In logic I have a few faders set up for the few realtime controls that the matrix does have and since they are easy to program and patch in m1000 well there you go. Sleeper

Subject: [SoundDiver] Mac spesifications, how important?
Message #17749
Hi I have a Power Mac g5 June 2004, 2.5 GHz, 500GB HDD, 5 Ram, and are using Logic (and Live). I don't tend to use more than 3-4 audio tracks on a 4 minute song, and I have just bough waves platinum which is CPU intensive I understand. If I bought the new MacPro 3GHz will there be any significant improvement on the quality of my work? If yes in which way? Or maybe I will go a long way just by buying another machine of the same kind I have and node them? Or maybe I might as well buy the power mac quad and node my current mac and thereby ending up with the same qualty work as if I had bough the Pro? I hate to spend a lot of money just to find that the difference isn't that noteable. After all I am not doing any professional work. regards Per
