OK, this is going to be a newbie stupid question, but if I wasn't a
previous SD owner, can I download the OS X public beta and use it or
will I need to get an old SD XS key (which I assume is some sort of
USB dongle)? If so, where can I get an XS key? Thanks.

Anyone can download it and use it.. The only catch is you have to be
a Logic Pro owner cause youre right it only works with an XSKey now,
and those only come with Logic Pro.

hi
i also have sounddiver and it works with dp4,but what not works is
when i want to choose a different efx for unit b,c,or d,it always put
the choosen part to unit a?
can you help me?
you can also answere in german!
thanx
I don't know where else to ask this. Therefore I try here. After all,
sounddiver is also from Emagic.
Will there be vista drivers for these midi interfaces? Or should we
start selling them off?
If not, could the drivers and the code be made public so some clever
guys can develop their own drivers?
Correction, Emagic was bought by Apple a few years ago.. Apple who now
owns Logic Pro, are also the owners of Sound Diver..
None of us know the answers to this. We havent gotten Mac drivers in
awhile either.. Best send a mail to Apple Support!

where do I find the latest updates to SoundDiver for the PC? I'm running
into lots of freezes with version 3.0 on XP sp2.
I stopped running SoundDiver on my Mac because it was a real pita --
especially since apple are dunces for not keeping the program -- the best of
its kind -- updated. but using a laptop and midisport uno, i'm more portable
and better able to focus on patch management with a 1:1 connection between
pc and synth.
except Apple has no sounddiver updates there now. someone really should
archive that site, should apple dump support for other emagic products.
nope, html page is blank
If you're using OS X, the updated USB midi drivers for emagic midi
hardware (version1.7) are here:

I have sounddiver for the pc and also the bundled jv1010 only version that
came with the sound module,.. I was wondering if there are any fellow users
who might be able to help.. Im confussed how to save multi patches (16 dif
sounds) and single sounds without overwriting the factory sounds.. I can
save single sounds to file but its all very confusing..
I remember reading very quickly awhile back while broswing the web someone
moaning abou the jv1010 saying whats the point if you cant save the sounds
but I can not find this article..
I am getting by for now but if I should go ahead and start overwriting the
original sounds to become more productive thats fine i just want to make
sure really and know whats possible before I start
thanks

I answered to this one off-list. Anyone else still using a DP/4?

Same problem overhere when I try to edit filter settings. And I'm on
Windows XP. It seems the Morpheus module has a fault?

I'm wondering, since Apple has all but ceased work on SoundDiver OSX
(judging by the beta status of the app for 3 years now), if we could
kick Apple into gear by sending a petition to them requesting that
they finish up the OSX version of SoundDiver and release it for sale
to the public? Or I'd even be happy if they just made it available to
Logic Pro users, whatever.

I'd sign it! Would be really helpful to have an up-to-date SoundDiver that
could work hand-in-hand with Logic Pro..

I'll sign it.

I'd certainly sign a petition....It would be a shame if Apple went
down the road of an outfit like Gibson, who buys up great companies,
lays off the creative staff and then kills off the product(ie
Steinberger, Oberheim, Opcode), perhaps they need to be reminded of
our loyalty to the product.

I'll sign too.
I signed the old one long ago and the result was....nothing.
I hate being negative, but I really believe that Apple sees their
future as app-based so SoundDiver isn't attractive to them - it means
Apple having to actually spend time and money supporting legacy
hardware. It seems more and more unlikely they will include SD-type
functions in Logic as users move away from hardware into softsynths
and softsamplers.
Maybe they'd release the code to users if they don't intend ever
doing anything with it?
I still need it - I have racks full of gear I'd like to maintain and
SoundDiver was a dream come true for me when I first bought it (way
back at v1.x).
Doesn't anyone know Steve Jobs personally?
Regards - Colin
I'll join, too.
SoundDiver is still one of the application I use most.

Ahh yes I remember that good old petition too.. Youve got an
interesting idea Colin that never occured to me before.. Apple is all
up in the open source now, or at least they were a bit but theyre
tightening down lately.. Why dont they open source the damn thing??
You know theyve got an XCode project they can post up somewhere.. Now
give us our toys!!! :D
Im with ya man.. Theres no way in hell those softsynths are going to
replace my Waldorf Micro Q, Microwave, Virus A, Electribes, etc.. You
cant jam with a softsynth like you can with these babys.. Come on
Apple throw us a bone here we put up with alot of shit when you
bought Emagic and threw everything into chaos.. Dont let this piece
of it die..

Yeah, count me in as well. Lots of MIDI gear here. But (and there's a big
"but"), I really miss the good ol' autolink mode in OS 9, and
Michael Haydn
mentioned it was impossible to program a similar thing in X, so I'd rather
use OS 9 when I really need to work with SD (while my old Macs are still
alive that is).
Best,
Andy

True Autolink doesnt work in OS X but.. If youre using Logic in OS X,
why go back to OS 9 just for SD when it is going to essentially
function the same anyways?? Unless of course youre still using Logic
6 under OS 9 then it makes sense.

Hello,
I own a RS7k and a Alesis Micron.
As you maybe know there are no lib-files for this hardware.
I´m bored of googling for hours without success.
Once I can dump sounddiver or sell it via ebay.
Is there a software which can handle my hardware same as sounddiver?
Second opinion is to write a lib-file. But how? Is it possible to write
lib-files for my hardware? Any links, tips or other helpful creational
tricks fo lib-files.
THx anyway
