Hi,
After trying MidiQuest for a while (with some disappointment I must say,
very buggy, crashing all the time, strange misleading manual, etc.), I
decided to try sounddiver again and see if i could fix this 03d problem.
I actually found the solution by editing the adaptation for the 03d, by
changing the checksum type from "2's complement" to "no
checksum".
This way, the 03d adapatation works! Doesn't make any sense to me but it
works. Now the adaptation is sending the checksum byte.
Did you ever get the Triton Extreme module for SoundDiver. I just bought an
Extreme and PowerMan Dual G5. I am about to install Logic and am wondering
how to intergrate the midi instrument definitions.
I have connected my K2500r via a Unitror8mkII to my G5. Some SysEx data is
recieved well,
but somethimes Sounddiver seems to be confused. (Especially with certain
programm data).
Is there a change their will be an updated adaptation for the OSX version in
the future?
I used to use Sounddiver 3.0 with a Pod 2.0 in Logic 6.4.3/OS 9. It was the
version of SoundDiver that came with the Pod, or from the Line 6 website. Is
there a version for Logic 7 (I couldn't find it), even if I have to purchase
SoundDiver? I'd like to be able to use the Pod along with Logic 7. I tried
opening SoundDiver 3.0 in Classic mode while Logic 7 was running, but Logic
was acting weird and then the machine locked up, so I guess this isn't
do-able..
Hi,
I recommend you use "Line 6 Edit" instead it is a JAVA application
made by Line6 for all
the POD range it also allows you access to their online library
http://www.line6.com/customtone/news/
It works with 10.3.9 and later
Hope this helps
Hi all,
I have a question - First, I'll tell you a bit about the scenario.
A Mac, a PC, a Diver CD (starting to sound like a xmas carol
already).....
Anyway, I remember reading somewhere that you could connect a Mac to
the USB port _and_ a PC to the serial port and use both together...
However, I believe that this represented 2 sets of ports?
My question is, in a nutshell.... Can I connect this all together and
use SD on the PC (ie the latest windows version, authorized with the
old CD) and edit those midi devices that are connected to the AMT8,
so that I can use them in the Mac setup running LogicPro?
There may be some sort of other option using MidiOverLan (which I
currently utilize for running Kontakt2 on the PC from within LogicPro
on the Mac)... Has anyone ever done this? Diver just isn't an option
in the current scenario, under the latest beta for OSX.
Maybe using MidiPipe in conjunction with the MidiOverLan could be the
solution....?
Any advice on experiences would be greatly appreciated!
Best Regards,
Matt

Hi Matt
1. You can't use USB and RS-232 parallely. So, you have to use RS-422 to
hook up the
AMT to your mac and USB or RS-232 to connect the AMT to your PC. Has your
mac still a
RS-422 connection? Likely not... Ok, then you need something like:
http://www.geethree.com/stealth/index.html
You can't access the AMT from both computers at the same time. After
switching on the
AMT only communicates with the port which sends data first. So,
unfortunately there is no
possibility to twitch sounds in SD when Logic is running...
2. MIDIoverLAN/MIDIPipe sounds interesting. Could work...
3. Ever thought of installing Classic/OMS and running SD under Classic.
Doesn't work that
bad. But with a very limitation: Either MacOSX or Classic can access the
AMT. So, no
possibility either to twitch sounds in SD when Logic is running. This is the
way I do it.
4. Other possibility: Dealing with some MIDI data delay you can hook up two
MIDI
interfaces in series (one connected to your mac, one to your PC), put a MIDI
merger or
MIDI matrix inbetween to mix the data streams to/from your synth.

Mmm,
Yeah, figured what you mentioned, however, I guess I was in hope of
finding someone that may have used MidiPipe to tap into the Macs Midi
hardware (synths attached to an AMT8) and route it to a PC running
SDiver. (all via MusicLab MidioverLan3).....
I may have to give it a go!
Best Regards,
Matt

How do I order?
I just finished reading through all posts requesting support for the ES and
6/7/8.
All of these posts are now 2YEARS OLD! Did SD ever add support for the Motif
Line?
Since I could not get SD to work for me, I keep having to set my sights
lower.
I have searched the web for just a file I can get into Logic 7 to set up my
Enviroment for using the MO6. Nothing. It is still pretty new, does anyone
know of a
enviroment object for the MO? I had to create my own and I am not looking
forward
to spending 4 hours typing the 1024 different patch names I have become very
frustrated
because the support for a great synth and a great computer are turning out
to be dismal.
Thanks for your time. Phil

Further to my MidiPipe question.... (sound-diver yahhoo group message)
I have SoundDiver running on my PC now and have routed midi via
MidiPipe over the MIDIoverLAN setup into the PC from my Mac setup.
Now, here's the deal.
I can get SoundDiver to transmit to the Keyboard (in this case a Korg
Trinity Pro connected to Port 1 of my AMT8), but Diver is unable to
receive any midi data, even though the data is clearly active in the
MolCP III MIDI Monitor.
I can confirm that all connections are fine and I also tested with
Diver 3.1 on the Mac and it is all working there.
Anyone got any ideas they could throw my way?
Best Regards,
Matt

I recently downloaded this for the jv-1010, but you cant browse the folder

Hello everyone. I'm on a Dual G5 running OS 10.4.5 and SD 3.1.0 and for some
reason, I cannot get the darn thing to load an adaptation, and whenever I
try to access the help file on adaptations (help-install-adaptations) the
program crashes.
Can someone please give me a step by step on how to install adaptations? Is
everyone having problems with the help files crashing the program?
Thanks in advance for your reply!
Hello everyone,
I use 2 Roland JV-1010's in my setup, one on midi port 3 and one on midi
port 4 of my MOTU interface. SoundDiver is able to scan the one on port 3
automatically, but it scans the port 4 one as an XP-80 or JV-1080, etc. I
have been able to "trick" it into recognizing the JV-1010 on Port
4, but
whenever I open SD again, it says it cannot be found, and instead re-scans
resulting in an XP-80 or JV-1080.
Is this a bug? Is anyone able to run two of the same units in SD? Thanks in
advance for any help you can provide.

Hi Jonathan
I'm not familiar with Roland synths - but make sure your two units have
different device
numbers and matching common channels. Make sure these settings match the
ones in SD.
Don't let SD scan for new devices - do install them manually.
Hope that helps

SoundDiver 3.1.0 public beta 2 works with the new Mac Intel machines.
It can be downloaded from www.versiontracker.com.
Copy your old "info.emagic.SoundDiver.plist" file from your user
preferences
& place it in your new: user/Library/preferences folder.

Hi,
I've been using Logic fairly happily for 8 years now, but recently I
unsuccessfully tried to re-partition my C and D drives and now Logic
(Platinum v5.5 running on Win XP)won't see my midi drivers (Via chipset).
I can play midi files in Windows Media Player, through the Via Midi Out
port, but Logic consistently displays "no driver" in the midi
driver box in
the Arrange window.
How do I get Logic to recognise the midi drivers? Do I need to reinstall
Logic?
Thanks in advance...
Hello-
I have been given a Roland JV-1010 sound module, but the original CD it
shipped with has
been lost. I would love to use Sound Diver to edit patces, etc., but I
can't seem to locate a
version that I can use.
I am running Mac OS X 10.4.7, and I have tried the Sound Diver Public Beta,
but when I try to
run the program, it gives me an "invalid XSKey" error.
Is there any soulution anyone knows of?
Thanks
So,
I was digging around in SD, and I found that it can manipulate sampler
information... but the samples have to be on the sampler to work with.
i.e. if you have samples on a sampler's internal drive (or loaded into
ram) you can use SD to assign them and program patches. I'm getting an EMU
e-series and it has device maps for those samplers with some pretty advanced
sample mapping and patch programming. Very exciting.
PS. id def. seems like ? is moving in the direction of pushing people
toward soft-synths. But as long as they don't ever eliminate the usage of
hardware synths I welcome the other improvements they make. improvements
= relative term I suppose.
I've used dSP-quattro and it's a cool program... I don't have SCSI though,
so I should get that before I hook up my new sampler.
does anyone have anyone emu carnival alesis ion multi enviroments for logic
if you have email me dannyig2@hotmail.com thanks
Unfortunately the OS X versions of the SoundDiver public beta require
an XSKey. The OS 9 versions only require a serial number, though. If
you have an OS 9 machine available (it might run in Classic) you may
be able to find a used copy somewhere.
Hopefully someone on this list will have a copy of the bundled version
that shipped with the JV and be able to help.
Cheers!
