There's JSynthLib...
I haven't looked at it for ages, since SoundDiver does pretty much
everything I need right now.

Ey Ingo,

Go to:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sounddiver-users/
then sign in (you need an yahoo account), then click on "files" in
the upper left corner.
If you have problems I can also send you the file. It's about 32kB.

THANX :)
Uhoh.....it only works with version 1.0..........:( can you help me out
so I van use the editor with the latest version 2.0?
Ey Ingo,
back again with new Questions, I'm trying to use the SoundDiver but without
a manual....I have'nt got the foggiest notion what to do. Just experimenting
made me lose one of my sounds....:(
You're K-Station File is accepted and recognized....but it sometimes keeps
asking 'bout K-Station.hlp file....what is this?
Can you tell me where I can download a Manual? or can you tell me the basic
steps I need to take to dump all my sounds from the K-Station into
SoundDiver?
I'm Using the Unitor8 as midi-interface on midi-channel 8 (the front in- and
output...;) )

Hi Eric!
Have you installed the "OMS USB Manager" extension in your
/systemfolder (MacOS9)/OMS
folder? I'm not sure about the proper english names...

Hello,
I'm posting this, actually, because I'm about to purchase Logic 7. I have a
Roland JV-1010
module, and I would like to use Sounddiver to shuffle and overwrite some
sounds on my User
Bank. What are people's experience with Logic 7 and Sounddiver on a Mac
system? Several
posts seem to suggest that there are real difficulties with the latest Beta
version, but other
posts suggest that there are problems with the Mac Classic as well. What I
want to know, in a
nutshell, is: can Sounddiver work with Logic 7 in OS X in the latest Beta
version? If not, does a
version exist in Classic that actually works (and if so, where can it be
found)?
Thanks,
Gaby

I would not attempt to plan a workflow around Soundiver. The Beta
version is unsupported and does not work well with Logic 7.
There are so many nice synthesizers in Logic 7 you might find that
you rely less and less on programming external synths...

Thanks, Ed!
Sending Individual Items to the Wavestation SR
Due to problems with the implementation of "Are You Sure" commands
in the
Wavestation SR interface, the Patch and Performance Write commands do
not work properly from SysEx; they wait for a "Yes" confirmation
which
SysEx cannot provide. Unfortunately, this problem was not discovered
until almost two years after its release, at which point the project was
long over and the SR's primary programmer was working elsewhere.
Therefore, no bug fixes are available; we realize that this is very
unfortunate, and wish that the situation was otherwise.
I have been researching problems with the sysex transfer dumps. I have
turned on PatchBay
Program and ... Delay is set to 4000. I can almost send a complete bank
w/o timing out
(I never pay attention to SD messages saying couldn't receive and I let the
sysex end from Sr
before hitting Abort button in SD.)
EX - Sysex data Txmit Bank Ram 1
I will receive:
All of Patch Ram 1
All of Wav Seq Ram 1
nearly all of Performance Ram 1- with the exception of approximately 2
sounds in column 3
and all in column 4
I would like to know if or how to edit this module and add more time in the
patchbay Delay.
the other parameters seem to do no good.
thank you

The biggest problem with the current beta (for me) is that SoundDiver
(SD) messes with open Logic songs and can transpose tracks down a
semitone unexpectedly. I still use SD in OSX to load and also to edit
sounds. I then close SD, and log out and log in again before opening
Logic. This does affect workflow but you get used to it.
I still find SD an essential tool as I have lots of hardware which I
regularly use. You have a JV1010 - why not maximise its potential?

Hey Colin, ok I understand youre opening SD first, doing your stuff then
closing it before opening Logic, etc.. Do you really have to logout and
back in doing it that way too?? I thought that was only in the event
that you opened the two at once but does it screw stuff up still using
them at different times like you do???
FWIW - Soundiver 3.05 worked just fine in Classic as far as I could
tell. But once the update to OS X came out that allowed the OMS stuff to
somewhat work, they released the OS X beta a few days later and I
stopped working in Classic altogether.. You do need to boot into OS 9,
and setup your OMS environment beforehand though, at least I think this
was a crucial step.. Then once youre back in OS X you can run MIDI apps
in Classic.. But same rule, dont open anything in OS X that will access
your midi interface while running a classic app that is also using it..

Hi Chris,
I remember ages ago that unless I logged out, simply re-starting
Logic didn't fix the transpose bug. I haven't tested this for a while
though......

For me this is not an option as I have a G5 which doesn't boot in OS9
- only in Classic (which I almost never use). What you say about MIDI
apps is certainly important to note for those who may want to
try......
Thanks and regards
Colin
Where on earth did you find a useful driver for XP. For months I have
scoured the web looking and have only found that every one of them I find
says its for XP/2000 and just downloads a folder full of .dlls. No exe. If
you could advise, I would be ever so grateful, and also will finally be able
to take advantage of all my midi gear. My production has basically come to a
hault with out that interface.

Myk
I saw that there is an adaptation for the MKS-70 but I'm not sure if
JX-8P is supported. Thanks.

Is this the most recent version? Are there any compatibility issues
with Tiger? Thanks.
Trying Sounddiver 3.1 beta2 again to get this 03D adaptation working... (2
years after my last attempts)
Ok, In the 03d window, I request a scene preset and it seems to works fine:
the preset is there and editable.
But when I transmit the preset back, my 03D complains "BULK:BYTE COUNT
MISMATCH!"
I did the same test using other softwares (Sysex Librarian and Logic Pro 7)
and everything worked fine.
I compared the sysex message transmited by Sounddiver OSX with the message
transmited from Sounddiver OS9.
The message transmited from Sounddiver OSX is 1 byte shorter. The missing
byte seems to be the checksum byte.
Any clues how I could fix the problem?
Thank for any help!
Felix
Hi All
I'm looking for the Sounddiver Universal Module Programming Manual
Any chance someone can help me find it?
Thanks!
Felix
Hi,
I tested sounddiver on the rest of my setup and realised that there are
other problems:
Oberheim Matrix1000: sounddiver receives data but cannot send properly, the
Matrix wont recognise any messages.
Again it seems that one byte is missing: the checksum byte.
Peavey PC-1600 is working good! (no checksum used in this adaptation...)
Oberheim Microwave XT is also doing good.
So my guess is that any bank manager Adaptation using a checksum will
fail...

Sorry for replying late.
I just went to www.novationmusic.com and learned that the current
version is 2.1.01. When I created that adaptation two years ago it
was 1.0.09.
If nothing else has changed in the Sysex implementation, only the
version number in each Sysex string has to be altered. This is easily
done. The version number is in positions 10 and 11 in every Sysex
string. It has to be altered from $08/$09 to $11/$01 (for version
2.1.01). I'll do that and upload the adaptation to the files area.
Let me know if it works.

I never created a help file for the K-Station adaptation :-(
If you feel eager you can create one yourself, for the benefit of
other K-Station users (I don't own one). It's not that difficult.

A user's manual for SoundDiver is included with the public beta for
Mac OSX.
To dump your sounds into the computer: in the "K-Station" window,
select all the sounds you want to dump (you can click into the title
bar to select a whole bank), then click on the button with the tiny
keyboard and the question mark in the upper left of the window. Or
press Cmd/Ctrl-R, or choose "Edit/Request" from the main menu.

oops, the version number is in positions 9 and 10 (start counting
with 0). Sorry for the confusion.
