Well just find yourself a Mac about 3-4 years old that MIGHT still
boot OS 9, then good luck locating OS 9 and stay right there and dont
ever plan on upgrading your machine past 2001 heh.. You can go up to
Logic 6 but once again, good luck finding it there.. Might check ebay.

Dear Chris,
No offense - but, weren't you kinda rough on the guy?
I thought that his question was reasonable enough - considering that he
wants to insure Autolink functionality...
I, unfortunately, can't answer his question - as I don't have any experience
with Macs... Always been a PC guy (well, except for first computer - which
was a Timex Sinclair) :-)
Sincerely,
Karsten J. Chikuri
That would be very useful as the NL2 stuff, whether SD or other
librarians, does not work with the NL2X.

AFAIR it's OK, but on MacOS9, and better not under Classic (although it
can work but with restrictions I think), so you would need an
"old" Mac
that still can boot under OS9.
(I have no more such config to test).

Classic works but you will need to have OMS installed and setup in
the OS 9 environment beforehand.. (Same with the old Nord Modular
editor too). Autoload is still a no go.
But then again it doesnt work under the OS X versions anyways. :)
Might not be a good idea to open up any OS X apps that will grab your
midi interface too while you have it open in Classic.

Hi,
My colleague, who wants to stay with OS9 for certain reasons, has just
bought a G4 dual 1 Ghz 'mirror drive door' Mac in immaculate condition, and
this is booting from and running OS9 (might be the last G4 that can do
this?). Can't comment on application performance because he hasn't installed
anything on it yet.
OS9 original installer CDs appear from time to time on eBay.
Not everyone feels that they have to keep upgrading. If you have the
functionality you require to create and work, it's enough!

Hi Everyone,
I use the modules for Roland JV880/90 a lot, and the SD Beta 3.1.1
versions seem to have a bug. Whenever I try to adjust a Performance
parameter, SD crashes. Has anyone had this problem besides me? If so,
has anyone made a corrected version of these modules?
TIA!

hey let me know how it turns out for your mac and auto link i have logic on
both platforms
with sound driver which is interesting now that the macs have gone intel
Hi Everyone,
I also have always used the generic sysex module a lot for midi bulk
dumps, but the OSX versions of SD has never included that module. Has
anyone made one that works?
I've checked the files area of the group, but haven't found one. If
some kind soul could make a working Generic Sysex module for SD Beta
3.1.1, it would really help me. That's the last thing I still need
OS9 for.
I'd be willing to pay someone for their time for this. I have lots of
old songs I still need to access that are saved this way from an
outboard sequencer.
TIA!

Not so quick!
My public beta definitely contained both the Generic and Generic SysEx
adaptations.

This might take a while because my friend isn't a SoundDiver user! I'd need
to install it from my install CD etc. and there's no time right now, but if
I can get round to it, I'll let you know. In the meantime, anyone else using
SD + Logic + Autolink under OS9 on a G4?

Mine never has. Neither one shows up in my install list. Can you
upload them to the files area, or email them directly to me? I would
be forever grateful!
Or is there somewhere on the web I can find a complete archive of all
the modules/adaptations for SD 3.1.1 Public Beta 2?

Hi all,
I have been contemplating (yet to explore) running SD on a PC and
routing it via midiPipe (mac) through MidiLan over to the PC.
Firstly, has anyone ever tried this? If so, was it successful?
The stability problems on the BetaOSX versions are driving me insane,
so I would be thinking, that if this worked, it would be an
acceptable workaround for doing what I need to do.
Best Regards,
Matt

Hello:
I am a Digital Perfomer user. I found a MOTU 2408 MK II on Ebay and bought
it. But it doesn't have an owner's manual. Been searching for one without
success. Short of that, is there anyone who can tell me in a few brief
steps how to start using it?
I have a POWER MAC G4 with MOTU's PCI-324 audio card installed. How do I go
about setting up the 2408 and DP to communicate with each other? I
appreciate your help.

I've just purchased a Waldorf Microwave XT - but need SoundDiver to
make custom wavetables, etc. Looks like the link to Apple doesn't work,
as Emagic products are no longer being supported. I know there are 1 or
2 other editing programmes that can be aquired for this piece of
hardware, but it seems SoundDiver is the daddy of 'em all.
Can anyone recommend a good site, sell me an old CD, a copy or
whatever, as I have had the bad luck to need this programme now
suddenly when it's been taken off the net.
Any help on this one much appreciated.
Many Thanks.

The Sounddiver public beta for OSX is still available for download here:

Hi Everyone,
Last week I posted my need for the Generic and Generic Sysex modules
for SD 3.1.1 Public Beta 2. Malte Rogacki <gacki@gacki.sax.de> said
that he's always had them in both versions of the Public Beta for
OSX, but they've never been included in my install list.
If someone has them, can you please upload them to the files area, or
email them directly to me? I would

Could be done; but isn't totally easy without a test device.
Why don't you give it a try yourself? I think the old Nordlead adaptations
were still included with the beta; possibly you just need to edit a copy of
them.

Ahem.
I already mailed you the adaptations.
On Sunday.
Perhaps they are still in you inbox?

Well, if I thought I could do it, I wouldn't ask ;-)
SysEx is lost on me.
Thanks, Malte, but didn't get them. They probably got caught by my
spam filter. But I did find them in my install list, finally. Silly
me, I was looking for them alphabetically, under "G". I finally
found
them under (other).
But here's my next problem. I installed the Generic Sysex module, and
I can receive sysex from my devices, but cannot send to my devices.
The settings are all the same as in the 3.0 version for OS9, and it
works fine there. In the Beta version, I get good communication back
and forth from my keyboards and their modules, but I can't send from
the Generic Sysex module, which of course is what I need to do.
I'm using an Emagic AMT8 midi interface. Any suggestions?
TIA!

Did you send the correct output port for the adaptation? "All"
will
probably not work.

OK, that worked! I had to select each device's port and send each dump
individually, but it
worked. A bit of a clunky workaround, but hey, I'll take it!
Any idea why "All" ports works in OS9, but not OSX?
Thanks a million!

When I first went to Logic in OS X it drove me crazy trying to find out
why none of my synths were getting clock.. Just had to go select any of
the ports OTHER than the All one and what do ya know, it sends clock out
to the whole interface like magic. Kind of annoying yeah..

Hello all. I'm new here. I'm using SD 3.1.0 to maintain the patches on my
Roland GR-33 but would like to use 3.3.1 instead. Apple's Emagic legacy
software page only has 3.1.0 -- anyone know where I can find 3.1.1? Is it on
the Logic 6 installer disks, or is there another download page somewhere?
Thanks!
