Hi Frank,
I remember having problems with my D110. You can add it manually.
You're correct - the Device ID is 17.

That's the problem I can't add it manually...! :( To Install the D110 I must
see the D110 in
the List of Synthies, but there is no D110.
:(
Frank
Because this is a copyrighted file, regardless of if Emagic will let
us distribute the manual or not, this is against Yahoo's terms and
conditions. I have removed the file for now and am checking with
Michael Haydn to see if we can put the manual on the
www.logic-users.org website somewhere.

Funny, on my system it's there (actually it's called D-110).
You're using 3.1.0 Public beta 2 on Mac OSX, yes? In the folder
Users/.../Library/Application Support/Emagic/SoundDiver Adaptations/
there has to be a file called D-110.ADA.
Ingo
Hi all,
since I've updated to Mac OSX 10.4.3 (from 10.4.2) SoundDiver 3.1.0
Public Beta obviously cannot read nor write its own Preferences file
any more. When I launch SoundDiver it comes up as if freshly
installed (Welcome to SoundDiver blah blah). When I quit it I get an
error message "Error reading/writing file info.emagic.sounddiver:
unknown system error..".
I searched my HD, but there is indeed no such file
"info.emagic.sounddiver". According to the Readme PDF that came
with
the Public Beta there should be one:
"...these are always located under ff/Library/Preferences/
info.emagic.sounddiver" (first page). Unfortunately I really don't
know if there was such a file on my HD when SoundDiver still ran
flawlessly.
I encounter a similar problem with Logic 6 (tried several versions).
Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas?
Ingo
Hey Everyone
I've got a SoundDiver manual, and SoundDiver 3.0
(Volume 2) install CD for Mac & Windows for sale.
Please contact me directly if interested.

Hi Ingo,
I have a few suggestions.
Spotlight defines certain areas as private and does not search there
(unless this is fixed in 10.4.3 - but it seems not), so you need to
manually go to these locations to check for the files.
Next, your permissions may have changed, so that you are no longer
able to write to these files. Get info and check the files
themselves, and also the enclosing folder(s) - they must not be read
only. (That's probably why you get the error message)
If the pref files have been removed somehow by the OS update, you
could always drag the old pref file back in from your backup (you did
backup first....?)
Hope this helps

Hi everybody,
just bought a Virus TI Desktop. Does anyone know if there's a
SoundDiver adaption available for Virus TI?
i got all sounds from my sold synths (virus b and virus c) perfectly
sorted into SoundDiver libraries and want to continued using
SoundDiver and Virus TI. also one reason is that SoundDiver finds
dublicate sounds which saves me lots of time by sorting sounds,....
Anyone can help?
Thanks very much!

Did you copy the adaptations into the correct folder?
Please open your home directoryand go to "Library/Application
Support".
Check if there is an Emagic folder inside it; and if it is, check if there
is a "SoundDiver Adaptations" folder inside the Emagic folder.
That's where
all the adaptations go.
Important: All this stuff needs to go into the Library folder inside your
home directory, not the systemwide Library folder.

Probably an installation problem. All the adaptations need to go into the
~/Library/Application Support/Emagic/SoundDiver Adaptations.
~/ means your own home directory; hence ~/Library is the Library folder
inside your home directory and NOT (!) the "global" Library
folder.

Hi everyone,
About the Behringer BCF2000:
Can anyone help me with this for SoundDiver 3.05 Windows? The Apple
site (now owners of the Emagic software) does not seem to have any
support for the program, let alone modules/adaptations for any device.
Also, there is no complete SysEx documentation included with the
BCF2000. How does one make a new adaptation then? What is the SysEx
protocol and codes, etc? Great gear, btw!
Any help greatly appreciated, reply privately to: jandesmedtATscarlet.be
Greetings,
Jan
Hello,
is there a need for a SD adaption? The provided Java-Editor works quite
well. At least on
my Mac, I dont know about Windows.

Hi Colin, thanks for your help.
It seems my computer has a serious problem. The harddisk utility
reports an error ("wrong key length" - whatever this means) which
it
cannot repair. Other programs like Spark LE crash when launched.
Funny, Apple Mail and Safari still work fine.
I still can't find SoundDiver's nor Logic's Preferences files. Does
the "ff" mentioned in the file path above mean the same as the
"~",
i.e. home directory, or is there actually a folder named "ff"?
There's no such folder on my HD.
No, I haven't done any backups before updating to 10.4.3, but guess
what I'm doing right now... ;-)

I recently acquired a JV-2080 from a friend and was in the process of saving
off all of its User Patches, when I ran into a problem - it appears that the
midi out interface is not working - or hopefully i'm doing something really
stupid - like somehow not enabling the right feature...
I am running an AMT-8 through a G5 and Sound Diver 3.1b2.
I have 3 other synths that i often use with Sound Diver (K2000, Virus b,
Juno 106) - but for some reason the 2080 doesn't seem to want to transmit
any data.
I have tried all of the stupid things, like making sure the port I am
connected to (on the AMT-8) is working and the cables (both in/out) are ok.
MIDI In is fine - I can send it notes and it is responding to requests to
get patches, but the LED associated with the MIDI in on the AMT-8 never
flickers. I have also tried manually using the MIDI xfer utility of the 2080
to do a large patch dump and even with this I see no activity in the MIDI
LED of the port associated with the 2080.
Anyone else have any problems with blown MIDI interfaces on Roland gear?

I doubt anything is blown - it probably wouldn't work at all.
Here's a few places to check:
On the 2080, hit the <System> button, then <F3> which is MIDI
Check the Device number and that all functions are ON (eg SysEx)
Also press <Utility>, then <F5> for Protect
I set mine to Sytem Exclusive Message <OFF>, so that I can receive
edited perf and patch data.
On the AMT-8:
Check that you haven't got SysEx filtered for that particular port.
If it is, you'll get nothing. The fact that you can receive MIDI
notes and patch requests means you have communication at least.
You could always re-plug and simply use another set of ports which
you know are fine, and plug the 2080 in there.
Lastly, try another MIDI cable - this could cause all the trouble.
Hope this helps.
Colin
Hey Colin - thanks for the check-list... everything seems to be setup
correctly - my settings on the 2080 are as follows:
MIDI Settings:
------------------
Device ID Number: 17
Rx Sys Excl: ON
Tx Edit Data: OFF
Rx GM-ON Msg: ON
Utility/Protect:
-----------------
Write Operation: OFF
Sys Excl Msg: OFF
On the AMT-8 I have verified that I am not filtering Sys-Ex messages on this
port or any other port for that matter and that the Device ID and ports are
set correctly in SD.
I agree with you that the probability of a faulty MIDI port is low, but what
I am trying to do is not really that complex ( I use SD all the time for
patch editing on my K2000 and Virus b), and I have checked and re-checked
everything (including trying several different MIDI cables) - and am just
seeing absolutely no activity on the "MIDI In" light of the port
connected to the 2080.
One of the things that really makes me believe it could be a hardware
problem is that I tried to do a manual MIDI dump on the 2080
[Utility]--->[f4] for Data Transfer with the following settings:
Source -> ALL USER
Dest -> MIDI
[F6] Execute
At this point, one would expect to see a flood of activity on the "MIDI
In" port connected to the 2080. I see nothing! I have tried several
MIDI cables and even tried different ports on the AMT-8.
Luckily, I've been given the go-ahead to blow away all of the User patches
so backing up the original User Bank is not really that important, but you
know how when something is totally mysterious that it consumes you - even if
it is not important to the work you are doing... uhhggg!
Hi.
I want to buy Sound Diver 3.0.
How much is it?
Pepík.

Did you try my suggestion? Plug the 2080 into a port which you know
for sure is ok and working. (eg use the port that works for the
K2000. Use all the same cables that you use for the K2000 so that the
ONLY variable is the port that you are using on the AMT8.
If you get no lights or MIDI data, then you know for sure that the
2080 is the problem. Also, try the K2000 with the port that you
suspect is faulty. This will test the AMT8 as you know the K2000
works.

Hi Folk
I have just sent this off to Access Muisc Support but thought I may
get a quicker responce here! Thanks in adavance
Sid
Virus XL, OEM Sounddiver & Cubase SX
Is there a way to organise the preset singles that will enable me to
more effectively browse sounds when running a multi? I have created a
library which is a great way to browse and audition categories of
sounds but when I'm in a multi I'm restricted to selecting the bank
and patch. If I bring up the library window and select a sound I
instantly lose all the other multi sounds that are playing. I also
have to have Cubase transmitting midi ch 1. Obviously I would like to
audition categories of sounds with the track (and other multi parts)
playing at the same time.
To summarise. Can I audition a multi sound using the library
categories without losing the other multi parts already receiving midi
signals?
If not, is there a more effective way of organising the Singles to
more easily / effectively browse when in a multi?
Thanks

You can't buy it-
There was (is) a public beta available online for LogicPro owners, and
you may be able to find a used copy, but it's no longer available for
purchase new, and is currently not supported.

I'm having a spot of bother with the DTXpress adaptation. It downloads with
two extentions.
the ADA extension is obvious but why does it have "aifc" after
that? Hmmm
So I try to rename it with just the ADA extension and soundiver seems unable
to find it in the
Library>application Support>Emagic>Soundiver Adaptaions> folder.
Anyone have an idea.

I have the opcode 64x and I was able to get drivers for Windows 2000. I
works fine with logic but I can't get sounddiver to recognize my proteus
2000 and my Ensoniq ASR-X. I keep getting the message "device did not
respond". Have you guys gotten this setup to work?
