The online petition has now passed 300 signatures btw, not shockingly huge yet but it grows steadily.. And hmm.. I linked to the petition in the Apple Logic Pro forum some days ago, but my post was deleted after a few hours.. Scary.. I have also made "controversial" posts there which have been "cleansed" very swiftly. For a seemingly enlightened company like Apple, this is a totally intolerant policy which I dislike completely. They seem to only want to show the bright side and never acknowledge that users have complaints, and valid ones at that. Well....maybe the petition will eventually get to Mr Jobs himself. Is there any way of making sure of this? Regards - Colin

While the list of signatures grows we could brainstorm some ideas? How about ordering him a large prepaid veggie pizza brought to his office, with the message spelled out in asparagus? :) M And don't forget everyone, spread the word in more forums/list ! I just posted it on the Keyboard magazine web forum btw.

What I probably see as more likely (and depressing) is that Apple let the domains expire and some genius cyber-squatter snapped them up. Still only speculation... Eddie IMS

I put up my PC version of the adaptation against the Mac one and found an error in one of the entries. I updated it and now the D4 module works. Contact me and I can look it back up and tell what to fix if u need help.

Subject: [SoundDiver] Korg CX-3 Adaptation - Need Help Please
Message #17010
Can anybody out there help me with a Korg CX-3 adaptation? I have done all the dirty work and completed the adaptation and layouts. For some reason the CX-3 is not responding and I have confirmed my midi setup is operational as well as enabling CX-3 sysex communications. I can email the CX-3 midi specifications documentation as well as the adaptation. Malte Rogacki, if you are out there please help! All help is appreciated.

I was able to get the CX-3 to respond but although it is downloading data, it is not bringing in the program info. I changed a couple of things on the "Bank A" bank driver which resulted in the CX-3 responding. I am flying blind with this since this is my 1st attempt at developing an adaptation so please excuse my ignorance. Hope you can help....Thx much! I own a studio 128X and had a problem: it didn't work with SoundDiver using Win2K. Had to buy a new midi interface (Edirol UM-880) to get my new system running with Windows XP, SoundDiver and Cubase SX2 (the reason why I upgraded my computer hardware & OS). Normal MIDI operations worked properly with the beta drivers from the Opcode homepage. Launch SoundDiver FIRST, then launch Logic. Logic talks to the MIDI interface "through" SoundDiver, which in turn allows SoundDiver to send information upstream to Logic. --- Mibrilane

Subject: [SoundDiver] Can't request EMU Planet Phatt patches
Message #17019
Hiya. Just grabbed an old E-mu Planet Phatt module s/h and I can't say I'm successful with hooking it up with my Sounddiver (3.0.5 for Win). This is the story, if I let SD scan it just adds Proteus MIPS (for all my MIDI Yoke-ports) but no Planet Phatt. If I add it manually, and request the patches SD waits until Planet Phattis complete with sending the patches but no patches appears in the patch fields. Quite weird. It doesn't give any error-codes such as no connection to device and stuff. Anyone knows about this? I've searched the archives, but I couldn't find anything like this. Thanks, Carl.

Hello, if u have the latest OS (2.20 ? i think ..) on the EMU SDiver will not talk properly to the Phatt, it wil work only with older EMU OS versions 1.1 i think .. You mean the OS on the module? It's the older... 1.0.1 if I'm correct. Carl.

Subject: [SoundDiver] "Text Not Found" Messages with WinXP
Message #17024
I know this question has been posed before and that there was no resolution to it (or even suggestions as to what to try), however I'm hoping that Michael may still be monitoring the list, that Malte might be able to help, or that someone...anyone...might have found the answer. The problem - when initiating SD 3.0.5, there is a "Text Not Found" box that pops up with that horrendously loud water sound. As soon as you click off the first one, then a second identical event happens. As soon as you click off that one, then SD opens. History - This did not happen with WinXP SP1, but a couple of months ago I had to rebuild my system and SP1 was not available, only SP1a and SP2. I went through the complete upgrade process to SP2 before I installed SD (with all the updates). Now the problem is apparent. Research - The only difference that MS lists between SP1 and SP1a is the removal of the Microsoft VM Java support. Attempts at fixing the problem - 1) Insure that all paths in the registry that deal with SD were correct (I have SD on a partitioned drive so the drive letter is "E:" instead of "C:") - all are correct 2) Install the latest Java runtime app from Sun Micro - no change 3) Notice that the .PRF files are associated with a "msrating.dll" remove that association and remove the references to .PRF in the registry - no change 4) Backup the SD user preference file and the Universal Module Cache preference file (both .PRF renamed to .bak) so that SD builds them from scratch when the program is restarted - no change. 5) Jump out of chair, pound fist on desk, shout expletives, and spin in a circle - no change, BUT it relieved a bit of tension ;o At this point I only use SD for my Matrix 12. I have MQ9XL, but prefer the way SD handles the M-12. If I remember to mute the sound before opening SD it is not NEAR as irritating, but if I don't remember, then I partially repeat step 5 above and the family is less than impressed. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, --Dean

Subject: [SoundDiver] problems with XP service pack 2
Message #17025
Hi SD users, After upgrading to XP a while back I have not been using SD. Recently I decided to try to install it again. I was on w98 SE when i last used it. I have a Unitor 8 as my midi interface. I use XP service pack 2 now with Logic 5.51 and the Unitor works fine, although the installation of it's drivers was far from easy. Having installed SD (3.0.4) again it starts up ok, but hangs when i try to scan for particular device, any device it would seem. Has anyone been able to get SD to work with XP SP2 and know how to overcome this issue? I have tried going back to SP1 (backing up drive C: first with Drive Image) but it just cause Logic to start crashing on startup, so now I'm back to SP2. Also has anyone else noticed how all trace of Sounddiver have been removed from the apple site? There seems to be nowhere on the web where you can get hold of SD files and versions. Strange and annoying. Any help would be much appreciated. rotekz.
