The betas have always done this just fine for me. Now Im up at OS X 10.4.1 and SD is still working.. I have 4 synths I keep track of with SD, and an AMT8 myself, everythings ok over here. What synths are you having this problem with? It could very well be the synths particular adaptation/module and not Sound Diver as many of us are using it just like normal (except for some certain bugs here and there).. As for communications problems between Logic and Sound Diver, you are aware that Autolink does not work under OS X and there is no way SoundDiver is going to send any of its data to Logic right? Sounds like you may have both of those applications trying to take control of your midi interface and causing some problems giving it back to the app that wants control next.. -- Chris http://www.descentrecords.com

Subject: Emu XL Turbo - edit to silence
Message #16879
Hi, Im using the Sounddiver osx beta and trying to edit the user presets on my XL-1 turbo. What I find is that as soon as I edit any parameter, even the patch name, that patch goes silent... no note plays. the audition button on the front panel becomes ineffective for that patch. unedited patches work fine, and can be auditioned. the edits - say, the patch name, go through and are immediatly visible on the hardware. Is there something basically broken about my expectations? I think I should be able to simply change the name of a patch, and do nothing else, and have the patch continue to work.

Subject: Akai MPC MIDI routing with the Unitor 8 patch mode and Logic
Message #16888
This is a reply to #16357.
This thread I started is almost a year old. But I have found a way to have the Unitor 8 routing my MPC MIDI outs to my sound modules and record the resulting audio into Logic one instrument at a time, without the Unitor 8 going back into 'computer mode'. You put Logic in record pause mode then start the MPC which is syncing Logic as the slave. Voila! I can now wip up sequences on the MPC and record the resulting audio one instrument at a time into Logic. Beauty. I wonder if anyone will actually use this method. The reason I use it is because I can sequence my MIDI modules via the MPC or by simply switching the Unitor back into 'computer mode' sequence the same modules via Logic. Or start my ideas on the MPC then do finer MIDI editing in Logic by recording the MIDI from the MPC to Logic. Finer MIDI editing examples I can think of that Logic has over the MPC are delaying individual drums early or late for grooviness. The MPC is 96 ppqn which is way too course for subtle delays. Quantisation range, good for adding swing but not to 32nd note rolls etc. Visual editing of drum patterns in Logic etc. Bottom line is I like the user interface of the MPC for drum programming and recording keyboard ideas in a creative mind set. Peace. > From: Fernstudio <fernstudio@...> > Reply-To: sounddiver-users@yahoogroups.com > Date: Tue, 31 Aug 2004 00:50:06 -0700 > To: sounddiver-users@yahoogroups.com > Subject: Re: [SoundDiver] Unitor8 questions (for Michael Hayden) > > Hi Roman, > > On 30-Aug-04, at 10:52 PM, roman pirie wrote: > >> I want the Unitor8 to route the MIDI outputs of the MPC to the sound >> modules >> (as in the patch mode I've edited) AT THE SAME TIME as recieving MIDI >> clock >> sync from Logic. Hi Paul & all I have had SD for 5 years and I use it for virtually all my synths and FX as follows: Synth list: Wavestation A/D Roland JD990 E-MU Proteus 2000 Waldorf Pulse Waldorf Q Access Virus A Novation Supernova II Oberheim Matrix 1000 Cheetah MS-6 Roland R70 ( drum machine ) Roland R8-M ( drum module ) Yamaha SY99 Roland U220 FX list Lexicon Reflex Lexicon MPX-1 Studio Quad Some of the synths have a very limited edit function but it is still useful as library media to store hardware edits etc, SD is a great software tool and extremely versatile as virtually any synth could be made to work if you are prepared to write the adaptation for it, my only moan is that e-magic stopped supporting windows when Apple took over, understandable but bloody frustrating. I am using SD for all my modern and vintage stuff. Some of it works and some of it doesn't. MicroKorg, Waldorf Pulse, JV-2080, OSCar, SCI Multitrak 615 all work fine. Jupiter-6 (Europa), DX7-II(E!), Kawai K1r don't. On the DX, the definition works if I pretend I don't have E! and just use the regular DX7-II one. The K1R one is totally broken but the K1 keyboard definition works fine for it. The SCI Multitrak is a surprise as it works 100% perfectly and performs like you would expect, even though it is a budget 80's analogue with a reference MIDI implementation. rachel -- Rachel Polanskis Systems Admin, University of Western Sydney ADD Werrington North Campus (+61 2) 9678 7291 <r.polanskis@...> "I have found the solution, Doctor. FS1R, Microwave I, TX802, Morpheus, VL-1, NordRack2 and a few custom Sys Ex dumps. It's depressing that SD is on ice. And especially that it messes up Logic Pro (Logic 7.1 plays all MIDI and softsynths 1 semitone lower after SD is launched). I believe a difference between Microwave I and XT is that only the first one has analog filters..? m > From: ridszero <ridszero@...> > Reply-To: <sounddiver-users@yahoogroups.com> > Date: Sun, 17 Jul 2005 03:02:30 -0000 > To: <sounddiver-users@yahoogroups.com> > Subject: [SoundDiver] What hardware synths do you edit w/ SD? > > Just curious what hardware synths people edit with sounddiver?
