Subject: Newbie questions for Sound Diver public beta OS X
Message #16801
Hi, I have the Sound Diver public beta for OS X to hook up with Adrenalinn I and a GR-33. I've been able to load the data from these devices into SoundDiver. However, there is a ton of different settings and menu items that are not documented at all. Are there any manuals or documentation, perhaps from an older version, that I could read to help me getting around the program? Thanks! Kevin

Indeed i loved, used and sysadmined unix since 86, did the same for all possible win version (decent only from w2k onwards) used apple 9.2 too. But do u think is fair that they produce an OS that wont run any of the old heavily paid music SW ? Subject: all sorts of trouble using new beta with waldorf microwave
Message #16804
what's up? i'm new to this list and am hoping someone can help me. i searched around some older messages, but couldn't find an answer. i'm using sounddiver 3.1.0 public beta2 with osx 10.3.4, connected to a waldorf microwaveXT via a motu 828. first of all i have sysex files in midi format that i can't figure out how to open in soundiver, if i try to import or open them i get a "unknown file type" error. the other issue i'm having is when i try to send sysex data to the microwave, i receive a checksum error from it. not only that, but it doesn't receive any of the changes. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Hi rewi9d 1. Have you got the newest MOTU drivers? 2. Have you got the possibility to run SD in Classic Mode or on a OS 9.x computer? - When yes: does the transmission work? When the transmission is fine go to point 3... - When no: try sending the sysex file with sysex librarian - a nice little helper for free (http://www.snoize.com/SysExLibrarian/) or from within a sequencer application capable of sending sysex data (Logic, ...). When you still get errors your sysex file is likely damaged. When it works fine proceed to point 3... 3. Don't forget that SD runs awfully under OS 10.x Cheers Urs

I have have had SoundDiver 3.04 for a few years now. After a recent hard drive crash I lost all my data. I reinstalled SoundDiver and I don't see the Korg MS2000 there. I don't remember if I downloaded that module from their website, but my question is, where can I find the Korg MS2000 module?

Message #16815
I drive Sounddiver (3.05) on Windows XP and Iam able to control the microwave XT (OS 3.33). But when I try to change any of the sound defining parameter in the edit-window of SD, these changes can not be immediately heared from the microwave, these can only heared, if I use the send function. This is boaring, when I have to use the send function after every little small parameter change. Is there any help?

Hallo Werner! Does this problem only occur with the WaveXT or also with other synths? When yes: please give more information on your setup. When no: check your settings under Options... "Auto Audition", "MIDI thru" and "Hold transmission (später senden)". Try Auto Audition -> on, MIDI thru -> on, Hold transmission -> off. Greets Groba

I have a mW XTk and the changes are present on some parameters and not on others when using Send MIDI CC+Sysex on the synth. However, if using Sysex only everything is correct. Hallo Urs, this Problem occurs only with the microwave XT, with other synthies in my SD setup Ive no problems. I already have put my settings as You mentioned: Auto audition: on, Midi thru: on, hold transmission: off As I read, if I change Parameters in the SD Editor, SD should immidiately send short "parameter change sys excl. messages" to the synth. Ive the impression, that this feature does not work properly. I see, that the MicrowaveXT gets Midi information, but there is no hearable sound change. But: For Microwave XT emagic offers a so called "modul" instead od "adaptions" that are used for my other synthies in the setup. Is it possible, that the modules pricipially dont show this feature at all? --- In sounddiver-users@yahoogroups.com, "Urs Grossenbacher" <ursgrossenbacher@b...> wrote: > Hallo Werner! > > Does this problem only occur with the WaveXT or also with other synths? > When yes: please give more information on your setup. > When no: check your settings under Options... Hi Werner! I've got SD 3.0.5 with MV II module v. 2.1 which runs smoothly in my setup. The MV XT II has got OS 2.33, board revision #3. An adaption relies on the universal module and basically only lets you do MIDI sysex transmissions of all kind. A module has got supplemental functions which can't be done with only the synths MIDI sysex capabilities, e.g. import and analyze/fast Fourier transform .wav- files via Sounddiver into a Kawai K5000 or a MV XT II. I don't think that the problem lies here... Another question... Have you occasionally set send pause to high? Set it to the defaut value of 30ms (timeout 200ms, play delay 50ms). Maybe your module is corrupt? Give a fresh installation a try (ftp://ftp2.emagic.de/pub/ sounddiver/windows/single_german/mwii.zip). A problem with your MIDI router/interface? Try another MIDI input/output for the MV XT II. Hook one of the working synths up to the actual input/output of the MV XT II (does it still work?). Bad MIDI cables (Wackelkontakt)? Change them. I once had it after dislocating, took me half a day to get it... I'm not sure, but is there a possbility to reset the MV XT II or to restore default values? At the moment I've got no other ideas...
