Hi, This is an automatically generated message. It contains the following paragraphs: A) Rules B) Features C) General info (subscriptions etc) A. RULES -------------- This is an unmoderated list, so we ask you to respect the "netiquette". Please stick to the following rules: #1 Use useful subject lines. #2 No excessive quoting. Cut out parts that aren't relevant to your reply. #3 No platform wars, politics, or other flame wars allowed on this list. Offending language or personal attacks also not allowed on this list. #4 Subscribers who don't act according to the rules of this list might be banned at the discretion of the moderators. #5 Replies to OT messages should be done in private. If possible, try to post OT messages to the Logic-OT list instead. B. FEATURES -------------------- We offer many services. You'll notice some nice advantages of being subscribed to this list once you've been subscribed for a while! Here's a list with the most common features: * User-provided info: this is one of the most informative mailinglists available. * Emagic-provided info: some Emagic people are subscribed and are actively taking part in the discussions. They do so without any obligation, so every mail they send is based on their goodwill. Keep in mind that this is not an official list! It is made BY users FOR users! * You can manage your account: choose between "individual emails" (lots of traffic: up to 100 mails a day!), "daily digests" (= all emails bundled into one big mail) or "no mail/web based only" (= you're still subscribed, so you can still browse through the archives, but you don't receive any emails anymore -> handy when you're going on holiday and don't want an overloaded mailbox: instead of unsubscribing, just switch to "no mail/ web based only" until you're back). * You can browse and search the archives. * You can see info about other users. * We have an online Calendar: you can find the dates of all interesting fairs etc. * Many other things... Subject: SoundDiver and E-MU XL-1 with Composer ROM
Message #16734
I just got sounddiver for OS X so I could try to load the patch names of my XL-1 with Composer ROM into Logic...SoundDiver loads the User Presets fine, the Xtreme Lead Presets fine, but it misses a few of the composer ROM banks. It loads banks 0 - 3 and bank 7, but skips banks 4 - 6 (i.e. banks 4 - 6 are not listed in the device window). Any idea how to get those names into the device menu? Any help is appreciated!

Subject: GX 700, any editor ? data not received at sending
Message #16735
Hello everybody I have a GX700 (guitar effect rack) Boss (Roland) that I begin to use after some years. Are they some of you owning one ? There's an adaptation made by Michael Haydn. Well the rack is well recognised, but a messages says "ILLEGAL IINDEX". Does somebody know what it means ? I can get all the patches (or at least their names) - needs some time - but not the System parameters neither Display data. But sending datas from SD to GX700 don't work : SoundDiver seems to send them, but nothing happening in the GX700. The Editor is not made. Is there any possibility to have it done some day ? I had try a bit to work on an adaptation some years ago (on a RY30 Yamaha drum machine), but I've no knowledge and no time enough to do it right :-( Thanks for any idea. -- Gérald Ryckeboer ryckeboerg@... http://ryckeboerg.free.fr

Hi I'm searching for Adaptations - Mods for Emu's 2500 + Extremlead 1. The Extrem seems to work with the 2000 mod but not sweetly. My 2500 just say NO ? Any help gratefully received. I read some old comments and yes the thought of creating 1 from scratch is daunting

Subject: SD the future. Whats it all about ?
Message #16738
I'm new here, fairly new to SD and have been looking for some help. But reading some of the messages I'm begining to question weather it's worth the time if the future is not clear. I'm using an old beaige G3 with SD 2.2.1 + logic ver 4.7. Soon I will have to upgrade the lot. I've used Cubase + Perfomer. I like emagic + find it solid but forward compatability is a must. Surly shirley Logic 7 has a libary function or SD support ? I'm off to ask MOTU if their UNisyn lib intergrates with Logic. WHATS GOING ON ?

Message #16740
This is a reply to #16617.
I still haven't figured out how to get the ESQ-m adaptation to work.Is anyone else using the ESQ-m (in the files section) with a Mac running OS 9? One person suggested using Red Edit, but I'm not sure how to do that. My original Message is below: I've tried downloading the ESQ-m ADA from the files section, but for some reason it doesn't show up in the "Install" window. I'm using a Mancintosh running OS 9. The only thing I could think of to do was change the suffix to lower case .ada and back to capitol letters.

You need to retrieve the contents of your synth using Sounddiver. Then, select the patches, copy (cmd-C), switch to Logic, open up a bank for the synth in your environment, and paste (cmd-V). There used to be a way to have this done automatically via a special feature in Sounddiver. > ..and please don't say "auto-link"! well if you do, please tell me > how to find that. Thanks Well, I didn't say it (although that's what you're looking for). You can only find it in Sounddiver on OS9. *That* feature has not existed on any of the OSX versions. HTH, Fernstudio

Message #16743
Any suggestions on how to setup a Juno-106 in Soundiver beta2. Is the Juno capable of doing a bulk dump. So far I've only managed to get feedback on my synth through an open patch edit window but the sound does not change with edit changes. Are there any special settings to be made?? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. If memory serves me correct the switch on the back of the Juno must be in position "III". I think then a patch gets sent each time you call up the patch and in addition the SysEx parameter changes are enabled. -- Malte Rogacki gacki@... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Don't forget to TURN ON THE SYNTHESIZER. That was probably me. This would help if the adaptation file doesn't show up with the usual SoundDiver icon in the finder. In ResEdit, select "Get File/Folder Info", then choose the adaptation file. In the window that then appears, enter EM7F in the "Type" field, and EMA6 in the "Creator " field. Close that window, then you'll be prompted if you want to save the changes. Click Yes, and presto, the adaptation file will appear with the correct SoundDiver icon in the finder (hopefully). Then it should also appear in SoundDiver's "Install" window. Ingo

Message #16747
Once upon a time I took part in SD beta-testing, but haven't done for a few years, and I don't know if that program is even going on any longer. Anybody on-board here that is or has been a beta-tester for SD, ie recently or ongoing, that knows that's going on with it? Elements of the SD interface appear to have been incorporated in L7, why not go all the way... News anyone?

Just for the record, I wasn't the original poster. I know all about Apple etc - I use Logic 7.01 currently but wish that Apple would release a bug-free version of SD. Yes - I have the beta. I've used SD since 1996 and would really be happy if Apple would indeed show some level of support, particularly to their acquired Emagic customer base. As I've said often, SD will never be a big seller as it's too hardware-specific. Apple could consider it to be a loss-leader, thus demonstrating good faith to old Emagic customers who have have thrown thousands of $'s into Logic/SoundDiver/Waveburner etc etc. But....Apple don't read this forum, so I'm probably wasting bandwidth and my time complaining....
