I believe the "MIDI Sync" parameter had to be set to "external" or something like that. I recall a sort of "clock loop" problem. Yes, that is another thing, and I think it was not just the MS2000R but any hardware sending a clock signal needed to be set to external from what I recall. Generally a pain and I gave up on it since being able to use a library and editor was enough for me to do what I need and those two sounddiver functions work fine. --- In sounddiver-users@yahoogroups.com, Malte Rogacki <gacki@g...> wrote: > > Thanks Malte, my midi express is on a mac so I guess it's not a > > platform specific problem. > > Ok, I see. I've had similar problems with all my Korg gear on SD-X. I will try the midi clock thing as soon as I get a chance. Subject: Importing .syx files not working (re-send)
Message #16580
No answer from anyone, so I'm re-posting: Forgive me if this has been discussed before.... I'm trying to import various .syx files for Roland D550 into SD 3.1 beta 2 for OSX. If I start Classic and launch the old OS9 version of SD, I can <Import> these files just fine. I am asked whether to Transmit or make a Library and both functions work. However, the identical files will NOT import in the OSX version of SD. The process begins, but I get a message which says: No suitable Sysex data found... etc Well, I KNOW there *IS* suitable sysex data, 'cause it just worked in Classic. Is this broken in OSX? Regards - Colin

Subject: setup proceedure
Message #16583
Hi, I'am having difficulty setting soundiver. When it trys to detectect my hardware synths it gos thru all my midi interfaces and ports..takes for ever. So I went for manual setup and assigned the midi channel and device ID. I assume the midi ch no. is the same as Device ID no.? When I start up soundiver again to see if it picks up synths and incomming midi messages and out going... I get error messgages for each synth saying make sure your cables are correctly connected....but they are. I also get messages saying no connection from computer as a patch bay has been manually installed? I have a midisport 8x8 interface and a sw1000 midi synth audio card My set up with midisport is Midi ch2 = sw1000xg synth card Midi ch 3 = an1x synth midi ch4 = super nova rack synth midi ch5 = access virus midi ch6 =m korg ms2000r all synths have sysex to send and recv So any tips please on how to set this up correctly? Then in sounddiver goto "Options/Settings/Midi interface Communications/Communication" and deselect "Check Device Connections at Startup" Make a new prefernces file & save. This should stop sounddiver trying to read all your synths at startup. Good luck. Regards Richard

Thanks ;-) But it doesn't : I have no problems with the AMT8 (USB), only with th 01X (mLan). The 01X sends permanent Sysex to computer, and on Mac, the mLan driver has still problems and I think it has something to do with it. SD locked on loading unitor module so didnt use it, have drivers for Amt8 loaded and 16 ports selected. Runs fine with Logic 5.5.1 Still on Sp1 though as the logic box is not on the net so see no real need to upgrade unless someone can point something out? Regards Richard

Message #16593
Hi all ! I am a teacher at a university music department, where we have a couple of E-mu Ultra samplers (EOS operating system). There was an OEM version of Sounddiver that was bundled to EOS samplers, but we can`t find it (Emagic downloads only has EOS version updates, and there is nothing at E-mu site). Does anyone know where to get it (or maybe even post it in the files section) ? The Access Virus version is still a free download at their site.

How do we extend? >> exdc > > Mine Expired just as I was heading out to lunch on the 24th at about > 1pm.... Mmm how do we use it now? Wow! You mean you can (could) actually do something with it? I wish I was feeling a sense of loss like you but everything I've tried to do with it so far it has failed... ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Paul Najar Jaminajar Music Production www.jaminajar.com

Well SD beta works fine for me here on a Powerbook 1GHz 12" and an AMT8 or MT4 or EMI 2/6m, for a 05R/W and a WS EX Korg and a QS6 Alesis. It worked also well with my Promix Yamaha (now died : the LCD system is dead an no longer spare pieces to find :-( Mine had also expired some days ago (it was the Public beta, first one I think). I know it had been discussed here some months ago, but don't remember what was said. I had still get a new authorisation from Emagic but it seems to be no longer this possibility on their site (but I had'nt search for a long time). I downloaded and installed the one downloadable on Emagic site, which is "Public beta 2) at another place than the (now) unauthorized one, and it worked for some days. The first one is still unauthorized and so can't be launched, but this "beta 2" works well although Xkey says SoundDiver unauthorized !? happy new year to all everyone on the list ;-) -- Gérald ryckeboerg@... http://ryckeboerg.free.fr

>SoundDiver for OS X (under the XSKey menu item) reports that it (the >"demo") will be >expiring in 3 days. Anyone else run into this? How do we extend? As far as I know, the v2 beta does NOT expire. My XSKey pref pane says that my demo period has expired, but SD beta 2 is still working fine. Check it out. Wish they would fix the bugs in beta v2....... Regards - Colin
