Subject: MT4
Message #16501
hi, Does anyone use the emagic MT4 with the new sounddiver. I used to have it set up on my old OS9 system and on my OSX, I'm running the beta version with the emagic AMT8 which works great. but when I tried to install the MT4 to get a couple of additional I/Os, it didn't have the installment for it. I assume they support it since it's their own product. So if anyone has or knows where I can get the adaptation for it, I'd appreciate it. Nima

Those of us spending time on this group have the odd situation of trying to straddle both sides of the fence. We all enjoy the easy recall and editing of soft synths, but aren't ready to give in to the homogenized tone of relying on them exclusively. Nor are we too keen on investing much time making presets for a synth that might be rendered completely unusable with the next OS revision, and then abandoned by it's creator. I'll be making sounds on my Waldorf XTs no matter what OS I'm using, but I imagine there's a few Bitheadz customers wondering where to go next. My contingency plan is that at the very least I can always do Sysex dumps into my sequencer to archive and back up my presets, and if a synth is too hard to edit manually, and no software interface exists for it, then it will probably spend more time idle--though not abandoned completely. My EX5R, O1/W, FS1R, Micro Q, XV-5080, and AN1X will always have a place in my studio even if they spend more time shut down.

Hello all, Been absent a long time from this list but started using SD again and have a problem. I'm still on MacOS9.2.2 with SD3.0.4 (or 3.0.5.2 or 3.1). I am having trouble getting the names of external programs from a Triton Rack showing up when making a request. All else works, internal programs and combinations, even the external combinations, just not the programs. I have one extension card in the first slot and ticked that as being present in the SD device-parameter-window. SD seems to communicate with the rack but the names are empty. Any suggestions? Cheers, Bob. Bob Lowen bob.lowen@...

I found that when i tried to request the patches for the external cards it would overwrite either External A Bank or the Moss F Bank. In the end if i remember i let it load each external bank one at a time then copied the bank to the right location. Think i even ended up typing all the external names in separately. I have a list of all the internal patches & names for the PCM 4,5,6,7 boards & Moss typed up in a word doc for easy access if u like? Just drop me a line if u like. Regards Richard Tillotson

I only have an external A bank and when requesting that nothing gets overwritten because nothing gets received. So strange that the combinations work well, it's just the programs. I have the PCM2 board. Thanks for offering the names of the boards you have. If it is not too difficult I would certainly appreciate receiving them for possible future use, but there is no hurry as I am not going to buy another extension board right away. Thanks again. Cheers, Bob.

Me thinks it could be to do with Pcm 2 board being in Slot A and not Slot B as i have PCM 4,5,6,7 in slots A,B,C,D. This could be why Sounddiver has issues with the external banks only. Richard

Hi, I made a new adapatation for KAWAI GMouse XC-1. It's just a simple and small GM sound module, but has some KAWAI's characteristic PCM sounds. The adaptation only controls Ch1-4 and 10 (drums). The page includes; GMouse XC-1 Information GMouse XC-1 Performance editor for SoundDiver GMouse XC-1 Sound examples made with the editor (The sound includes some wavesequence emulation - though to a limited extent.) Please take a look and tell me what you think. Best, Sealed Deep Synthesis Page http://homepage.mac.com/synth_seal/html/

Message #16517
Ok, So I'm trying to get a rig set up here at work. They've bought me the sexy Pod Pro XT. It doesn't exist in the "install" list. The device gets "seen" as either the old school rev 1 device or the Pod Pro but it will NOT execute a sysex dump for me no matter how hard I plead and cajole. I'm assuming I'm hosed or need to bring my old school unit to work. Any suggestions would be appreciated (and entertained. Perhaps wine and cheese even!) Phil Knoxville

Subject: HELP: KARMA won't save library?
Message #16518
I went to save all the patch's & Combi's, basically everything in the KARMA v2 as a backup to start with & it wouldn't let me. When I asked for a dump of the parameters to my G4, at one stage it said "Internal Error Something strange has happened. Try to avoid it. (-116) " the choice of buttons being onlyŠ [ I will ] this happened several times during the dump, then when I went to save or build a library, they came up again & then at the end with a message "Not enough memory" I have a G4, 533, dual processor, with 640mb of ram (enough, I thought to do this) running OS9.2.2 & Sound Diver 3.0.5. *So what went wrong & why? *What is the answer to resolve this? *Will it happen again? *Can I edit & store any programs & combi's I make? Any help or answers, would be greatly appreciated as I would really like to be able to save & edit this keyboard from Sound Diver, it's reasonably complex as it is, so saving it is very necessary. -- Fusier Tel/Fax: 61-8-8271 7397 AUSTRALIA http://www.zygosin.com

If U R interested in editing the PodXT parameters I'd suggest avoiding an SD headache by using Line6's proprietary software called "Line 6 Edit", which I'd guess came packaged with your POD unit. It is also available for download at Line 6's website. Best, Pete http://www.firingblind.com

Subject: HELP: More Problems Edit Korg KARMA?
Message #16521
Hi, I tried editing my Korg KARMA keyboard using SD, the first problem was trying to download & save all the internal settings to a library before I did any actual editing. See email subject: [ HELP: KARMA won't save library? ] The next problem happened while I was editing the Combi's (not programs), I could actually edit the parameters in SD & then save them in the keyboard. I'd saved a couple in the keyboard, because I could & was getting right into editing & problems started occurring with the keyboard actually crashing, not the software (that came later), but the keyboard. I had to turn it off & then on again to fix it, ofcourse it felt better after that, but during editing it happened again, eventually I couldn''t get any sound from those combi's at all, as though they were dead, it worries me quite a bit. I tested the others & they work, but these edited ones just won't produce a sound. I unplugged the midi & went through the combi just using the led screen & checked that it should work, still no sound! I'm perplexed, what to do now, all the others work, including my own edited on the keyboard before SD, so what's happened, any help would be wonderful, I think I've given most of the info, but if there's something you'd like to query please do, as I'm very worried about my keyboard & if it's damaged at all? Cheers -- Fusier Tel/Fax: 61-8-8271 7397 AUSTRALIA http://www.zygosin.com
