6 years ago i bought sounddiver. I never installed it. (what a sin)
It's release year is 1998. version 2.0.5 (windows 95) Now I want to
use it. How to handle? How to install it in windowd 98 and update it
to the latest version?

Not sure, I don't there is a retail version at the moment.

You can't.

As long as you have an Xskey, the OSX beta will run without restrictions.

Thank you very much for the reply.
Follow-up questions: how do I acquire an xskey? Do I have to acquire
another piece of software? What I am concerned about is that it
appears that I have to purchase Logic to get an xskey, and I don't
need Logic.
Again, any help would be greatly appreciated.

You get an Xskey when you buy Logic.

Hi,
I made a new page for Roland MC-303.
It includes;
MC-303 Information
MC-303 Performance editor adaptation: Uses 4 MIDI channels to synthesize
layered sounds
MC-303 Sound examples made with the editor
Please take a look and tell me what you think.

Hello,
using the stuff in the subject I would like to know
if any of the adaptations of NL2 are displaying the knob
adjustments or not ?
I can't make it to work, however the rest is working OK.
I would like to see my knob adjustments on the monitor if
this is possible.
Thanks in advance:

What about their fast, inexpensive computers like the G5, the iMac G5
and eMac?

You also get an XSKey when you buy the Apple Pro Training Series: Logic 6,
in which a
demo of Logic is included (version 6 however). You buy the book and they'll
send you
a key to activate the demo, however after the demo has expired I am still
able to run
SD beta2 ;)
Slightly cheaper then buying Logic Pro probably.

Thank you very much! I placed the order with Amazon today - it was
about $30. Very useful advice. If there's any way I can return the
favor, just let me know.

Hi all
I'd posted this elsewhere, but I like the idea so much, I'm
repeating it here.
Apple could take the External Instruments object bit further and
integrate SoundDiver-like features. How cool would this be.
Insert, say, a Virus on the External Instrument.
Select Virus from an Instrument profiles menu (like the SD setups).
Now, patch changes on the EI will display (Autolinked) the actual
patches in the Virus. Double clicking on the Virus External Inst
plug-in will open a Virus editor.
You never know:-)
Regards
Stephen
Yeah, I and a few others have had identical and similar brainfarts
over the past year or so. I've been silently hoping that Applemagic
implement something along the lines of this. With L7, they've taken
one step closer...

Wouldn't it be very generous of Apple to take care of
this as a free upgrade, in good faith, to amend Logic
7, etc., since they are charging us full price for
Logic 7? Speak your onions.

They are charging you full price for Logic 7. Has nothing to do with SD.

To clarify my statement, in the past you did not have
to pay full price for an upgrade to the program. Now
you do.

Funny I am a registered owner starting with Platinum 5, then to 6 then
to 6 Pro. Im only paying 299 for my upgrade.
Perhaps youre a windows user that was dropped two years ago? Or perhaps
youve not taken Emagic or Apple up on either a Crossgrade or an upgrade
from 4.0? If you own Platinum 5/6 or 6 Pro, your upgrade is only 299.

You don't have to pay full price for an upgrade to logic, It's $299 for
users of 5.x and above...

Does anybody have any experience using Sounddiver with the Roland
Fantom XR? I've just tried this with absolutely no luck.
Here's the details: I'm on a PC connected to the Fantom by USB, the
USB driver is installed and Sounddiver sees it and I can select it.
However, I cannot get any data from the Fantom: wshen I request
data, the program just waits forwever, and usually freezes. The
program works fine with all my other stuff, all of which is
connected by midi except a Roland XV2020 which is also connected by
USB, and shows up as a separate USB driver in the pulldonw list. I
have tried uninstalling the XV, but that didn't help. The device
number is correct.
Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated.

A better choice might be the free editor/librarian that Roland offers:
http://www.rolandus.com/support/genappstools/index.asp?CatID==8&SubCatID
=37&ProdID=úntom-XR
I use the one for the XV-5080/5050 (for OS X) and it's far superior to
the Soundiver adaptation. Might not be as convenient as having it all
under one roof, but it's a nice bit of useful kit that works well.
That and the fact that Soundiver on the PC is already history.
Hi,
I found a link to Sound Quest on Emagic's Link Page.
http://www.emagic.de/support/links/index.php?lang=EN
I think this link should be better omitted, as Emagic's own
SoundDiver, a competitive product, is not still explicitly
terminated.
Or how about adding another competitive product - MOTU Unisyn?

Thanks for reminding me that I've been abandoned by Emagic, Gene.
(sob). Actually, my "historic" program is still working hard for
me
day after day, although I know its just a matter of time until the
end. Funny thing is though, it works fine in XP, Microsoft's latest
OS. Apparently, I would be in worse shape if I ran out and bought
the latest Apple OSX computer.
I've been using the Roland software, and it works well. Maybe this
is a good thing since it is weening me away from my Sounddiver
dependence.
Now, if Microsoft were to go out and buy software companies and
force them to sell only Windows programs, even when this was against
the companies economic best interests, that would almost certainly
result in a slew of antitrust lawsuits. Apple can get away with it
because it has no market share. To my mind, it is still unethical
and unfair competition. Any smart lawyers out there feel like
taking on Apple with a claim under California's B&P 17200?

I think the presence of this link proves that the Emagic crew still
has ethics: they are doing what they can for their abandoned Windows
customers, even if its just a link. Lets hope their masters at
Apple don't get wind of this little link and force them to remove
it.

Now I understand - the link seems to be intended for Windows users.
But I'm afraid that Sound Quest has released the Mac OS X version, while
Emagic/Apple is still(?) on the way of developing SoundDiver for OS X..

I still believe the "External" instrument will incorporate
SoundDiver
functionality in future versions of Logic, so I for one will wait and
see what happens to SDX rather than give up the program I've worked
with and loved for all these years. Just my opinion though.

Proteus 1 XR Module is sending the Presets, but SD don´t receive
them,
using "Scan XR" dont´t scan the Module( Midi Problem),
with "Scan
Proteus", is scanned the Module only In/Out Ports and Sysex ID, but no
Presets or anything , all other Modules like Proteus 3; Vintage Keys;
ProCussion, still works fine with SD.
who can help?
