Subject: MS2000R not picked up by sounddiver
Message #16151
Hi, SDounddiver dose not detect my Korg MS2000R synth midi in or out during setup. The synth works fine along side cubase but sounddiver will not detect it? I have ticked options for the correct midi i/o ports and channel. It must be a setup on the synth or somthing. Any tips please? Regards Alien1x

The MS2000R is a problem child when it comes to sysex. I have found that it doesn't want to coexist with certain other midi equipment. For instance it doesn't want to work through my motu midi express interface. Probably something to do with the timing signals or something that the express sends out. It also dumps all of it's memory at once so the sysex is large. As for settings, you should have SytemEx enabled in the Midi Filter section of the global settings. It can work so good luck to you. Can't remember original message so hoping your are using Mac? As your using 3.05 I presume you are on os9? Restart your Mac. Hold down the following on your keyboard. Apple key + Option key + the P key + the R key. do this until you hear the same sound you get when you restart(until you hear it twice for good measure). this will clear the parameter RAM and can fix miss behaving mac's... Every application in OS9 has a preference file which is stored in the preferences folder inside your system folder. If you trash a preference file a knew one will be created when you open the application again. This is perfectly safe but you will loose your personal settings in that app. Try re-installing sounddiver and doing a factory re-set on your unitor. Good luck. P.S. I hope you have a mac!

Subject: Beta version: SYSEX timeouts, OS X. Cable length?
Message #16159
My SoundDiver beta consistently can't get data from any of my synths. The Korgs all return ?????? and don't want to know. The Prophecy will send a patch at a time, the T1 won't do that half the time. Roland JD800 makes the 'watch' flash on and off, data errors, locks up the JD in extreme cases. I'm using a dual processor G5 with Midex8 interface, Panther 10.3.3, Logic Pro and a Hammerfall Multiface. Even with the Multiface, I get errors, so I'm not convinced that it is the Midex8 - yet the system worked quite well under OS 9 with no changes to the MIDI setup beyond it being a different computer. Very frustrating.

Subject: Problem with FS1R
Message #16167
I've been having problems browsing patches with SoundDiver on my FS1R. It seems like program changes aren't working properly, even though I've configured the FS1R to receive bank and program changes. When I change focus from one patch to another in SD, the new patch's name appears on the display of the synth, but the patch number and bank on the display doesn't change. Also, changing patches seems to combine parameters of the patches, so they don't sound right. From what I can tell, changing patches results in a sound that contains the performance parameters of the first patch with the voices of the second. I've found that requesting a patch from the right-click menu can change it correctly, but this only works on banks A-C, not the internal/rewritable bank. I'd greatly appreciate any help with this issue. My setup is: SD 3.0.4 Windows XP AMT8 interface Athlon XP1900/512MB RAM

You may have a problems to understand the performance/voice organisation of the FS1R, since it's a bit different compared to the synths of other manufacturers. To make your own sounds the best thing is to start with your own init performance (e.g. with all parts off except one ...) and edit the voices from within that performance. Hope that helps! ...Summa On 11 Jun 2004 at 21:20, mark bapst wrote: > I've been having problems browsing patches with SoundDiver on my FS1R. > It seems like program changes aren't working properly, even though > I've configured the FS1R to receive bank and program changes. Subject: Looking for MKS-70 Adaption with Missing Sliders
Message #16172
I downloaded the MKS-70.ADA file fro SD 3.0.5.2 yet when I open my existing libraries and edit a tone, it is missing ENVELOPE 1 attack slider - Tone edit button 8-1 and DCO2 Envelope Depth - Tone edit button 4-3. The attack slider is very important for soft attacks, and even the DC02 Env Depth makes huge difference for brassy patches. Any help appreciated in finding a MKS-70 that edits all tone sliders, appreciated much. RS
