Subject: midi 'learn' mode?
Message #15078
I know I've asked this question before but I forgot the answer. How do you assign a midi controller to a parameter in SoundDiver? Example, I want to assign a fader or a knob to one of the controls in SD. Hi, I've ended up here looking for help. I've recently bought a novation super nova. It was suggested that I use sound diver to be able to edit sounds and arrange my patch locations. My problem is that the only copy that I have is an old V2.? is there anywhere to get upgrades or free demo's of the newer versions. I have a couple of synths and from what I've seen the program is ideal. Equip: cs1x,(KORG ms2000.er-1,es-1),supernova. I've managed to recognise the cs1x and supernova but my version doesn't have an editor for the SN. Stupid me I know but just not getting anywhere with the help. Cheers Kris Bishop

I am using SD3.04 and Midi-Ox 6.5 in a Win2kSP4 environment with a P4- 2.4 and 1000 megs ram. When trying to upload or download data between SD and a Yamaha SY55, I get a very extended delay. Sometimes is locks up Midi-Ox. I have tried adjusting the buffers in Midi-Ox with no luck. When I set the I/O ports in SD to the soundcard midi I/O, the problem disappears. Any ideas on what settings should be tweaked either in SD or Midi-Ox would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Roland

Hi Mike (re: Mac/SoundDiver) I'm Dave Turner, you had helped me with email tech support over the last week or two, thanks. I just thought the conclusion I came up with may be useful for others with the same situation: In order to get SoundDiver to function with Digital Performer, after much trial & error, I learned that although OMS isn't required, SoundDiver likes it & runs more stable no more "retry"s). I used my MIDIExpress with a serial out to each port, then configured SoundDiver on one & Digital Performer on the other. It works, but I can't change sounds while DP is playing, it stops as soon as you use SoundDiver, but that's no biggie. I'm toying around with the idea of using my other Mac exclusively for SoundDiver so I can hear the sounds within the context of the sequence as I audition them, but as it is now I'm holding off. I'm using three monitors which I highly reccommend. Thanks for getting me going Mike, Best regards, Dave

Subject: Sounddiver and Pcm-80
Message #15095
Hi - I am using SD3.04 and thinking of getting a Lexicon PCM-80 with the Dual-FX and Pitch-FX Alghorithm cards. Can any tell me the extent to which Sounddiver supports these models? Much appreciated Ole Gamnes

Hi, I found a version of sounddiver 3.0 and am wondering if buy it, would upgrading it to the latest version be an ok thing to do instead of just finding and buying the latest version if possible? Did that make sense? -Steve Pgh, pa

The Version 3 CD still contains version 3.0.0. Current version is 3.0.5.2, which is free for 3.0 users. So it's ok to buy it.
