Subject: WSA1 Profile
Message #14776
Hi All, I just tried to use the WSA1 profile in SD 3.052. Unfortunately (?) I have a WSA1R. Will it work with the rack mount version? I was getting weird behavior: It took a LONG time to get banks and when I got them they didn't seem to be really "there"...I couldn't do anything to or with them, some had "????????" for names etc. Weird. I didn't have a lot of time to squirrel away with it....will do so some more this evening. But thought I'd run it by the group to see if there is any info.... Any info would be appreciated. GN

Message #14778
I have the OEM version of Soundiver for the Kawai K5000 synth. I updated to ver 3. It still just keeps locking up whenever I open it. It says "checking for K5000 connection" and just hangs forever. I can't get to settings or anything, it starts this automatically whenever I open it. Any idea what is happening?? Is soundiver 3 compatible with Win XP??? thanks, jaxon ====Jaxon __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! This is a reply to #14772.
Thank you very much for your reply. Here are the dump strings. I sent Juno's M11 "Orchestra" Tone into SD. Then I changed the Name, VCF Key Follow and VCF Aftertouch. Juno didn't respond to the parameter change for the Name, but when I transmitted the edit buffer as below, it did respond to the name change. F0 41 35 00 23 20 01 00 03 00 03 03 03 02 03 03 00 01 00 00 00 56 53 30 20 44 55 64 63 6B 00 1F 00 00 7F 29 47 69 00 5F 00 45 02 00 25 29 21 1A 3F 13 1E 2C 2D F7 I stored this Tone into the Bank-Tone area in SD's window. Then I recalled it into SD's edit buffer again, and SD sent this message to Juno. F0 41 35 00 23 20 01 00 03 00 03 03 03 02 03 03 00 01 00 00 06 56 53 30 20 44 55 04 00 6B 00 1F 00 00 7F 29 47 69 00 5F 00 45 02 00 25 29 21 1A 3F 13 1E 2C 2D F7 The two messages are slightly different. VCF Key Follow and VCF Aftertouch data are lost (set to zero). I think the conversion table may have to be fixed. I know this is because of Alpha's rather queer sysex implementation, but I'd be glad if there can be some fix. Besides, looking at Alpha Juno adaptation, I'm glad to learn an advanced use of conversion table (changing format within one model). Thanx Michael Haydn, once again I have no idea of how to let the Unitor 8 Mk II, work with MIDIOX. I do have it on my computer, but have never used it. I would have to read a lot just to know exactly what MIDIOX does. But it still works with Cubase SX. Cubase is able to send out .cpr files to the right midi outs. You adviced me to contact "support" at emagic. Just so that you know how that conglomerate responds to a question do you have an exact and detailed information on how to install USB drivers to Win2000pro and where to find it on their site : They shove it off to the icelandic importer, which I doubt knows what to do. Subject: Installing Unitor8 MkII in Win2000pro
Message #14781
Dear sirs, I tried to install the Unitor 8 MkII drivers again by plugging it in and letting the wizard lead me on It first it asked for EMGICUSB.sys, (said it needed) Than the wizard asked for EMGU8U2K.sys, I think it was. And after that I the wizard disappeared As you know the manual recommends installing Unitor8 mkII with the "add hardware" unit in control panel there one is to find a file which is called OEMSETUP.inf, wich can be foundin drivers folder. I am wandering if any of you know if I use the USB drivers (which are lacking on the CD for Win2000K) that I downloaded from Emagics site do I have to worry about the OEMSETUP.inf file or insert that one also in, in some way ? Or preinstall it somehow before installing the downloaded USBdrivers ? The Unitor Control 2.2.7 and Sound Diver 3.052 on my system are not workingafter installing Unitors MkII usb drivers by the Win2000pro plug and carryon wizard. There is no help to get from Emagics "support" on the net. There seems to be no guidance on their site, since they don´t point it out in an email tome. Dear Michael Haydn, I ran Midiox monitors in and out, and the monitors are receiving no signalsfrom the instruments played through Unitor 8 mkII. Can that get us anywere. I was a bit frustrated that "support" from Emagic shoved the task of solving this to the local distributor, with a standard e-mail. With such an elementary thing as instructions on installing drivers for Win2000pro. Which is lacking in the old manual. Lacking in the download. And the thing comes with USB port for god sakes. A $1000 investment and no instructions on how to install USB drivers and nosolving problems - only pointing out a middle man The leading man at Hljóðfærahúsið who sold this to me here in Iceland is a very nice guy, but I really do believe he´ll be having to ask exactly the same questions I´m asking. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so LOUD. When I have everything at normal volume and I start up SD without turning the volume down it hurts my tender little ears. Dear sirs, Can we as a group persist on sending "support" of Emagic a challence to renew the manual on Unitor 8 MkII and even Sound Diver. A manual in .pdf form perhaps. I´ve been looking through my manual whichis at least since may 2000. And without USB support for Windows for example. I´m sure lots of things have happened since then. This is more than three years ago. In one chapter there is even a reference to a support site www.emagic.de/english/support/download and Microsoft search machine can´t find it. I think it is about time for Emagic working a lot on there text and supportfiles. Sincerely, Sveinbjörn Hilmarsson

Subject: GR-33 Adaptation
Message #14786
Has anyone successfully used the Roland GR-33 (guitar synth) adaptation? I've got a GR-33 talking to a MIDISport 8x8 with OMS, Mac OS 9.2.2 and the latest updates for Sounddiver. I've verified that the MIDI communications are working (by recording and playing back MIDI using Sibelius in addition to the OMS studio test). I have an XV-88 working fine with Sounddiver and my previous GR-30 worked fine as well. When I try to install the GR-33, the device scan fails and if I install manually I can't load the patches from the GR-33 (no communications). Any hints out there? (cause I just can't bear the thought of editing with the pathetic two line LCD screen) PcF

Thanks very much - I love > your program and your helpfulness but I hate your noise. Cheers. Hi, let me add one thing. My RME HDSP audio card accomodates itself to the sample rate requested by the application using it. I assume it's not the only one system with such behaviour. So... I start Logic with 48kHz (my default) after it I launch Unitor8 Control which wants to play this 32kHz sound, so my RME is adapting itself to it. Back to Logic - sample rate error on play. So I have to reset the driver or request a new sample rate in the song twice (from 48KHz - to 48kHz) This is real PITA. Is Sounddiver designed to be used with a direct IN/OUT midi connection between synth and computer, or will it work if I have a daisy chain of 3 synths on the same MIDI port?? thanks for the help, jaxon Am Mittwoch, 30.07.03, um 18:30 Uhr (Europe/Berlin) schrieb Jaxon Bridge: > I have the OEM version of Soundiver for the Kawai > K5000 synth. sounddiver cannot store the actual sample data. it will store the name of the individual samples (soundblocks), and allow you to edit parameters associated with sample playback, but the actual sample data is not going to be in sounddiver. you need a separate strategy for saving sample data. you can open a kurzweil format file (*.krz) with sounddiver and see what objects are included in the file with information about the type and location of each object. in order to do this you choose 'import', and then choose the .krz file you'd like to open. you will be able to see the contents of the file as a new library, basically. --- In sounddiver-users@yahoogroups.com, "rickykjensen" <Ricky@t...> wrote: > I know someone asked this before, but here it goes again: > > How can I save and load patches with samples from Kurzweil K2000 into > Sound Diver?? > I don't need to edit them, just save them. > > Ricky

One has to click on the left side wich unit you want to know more about "unitor mk II" for example, and then click "search". However I downloaded again the drivers for the Unitor 8 Mk II and joy. Theyhave added a read me file in HTML format I guess it is with the download !. There one can find information on installing Unitor Mk II and more under several OS's. And there are some more files (drivers) in the download (OEM.....etc)! So if anyone is interested in the newest dowload with new info. Vær so god ! Sincerely, Sveinbjörn Hilmarsson

Subject: Win2000pro installation
Message #14799
Dear sirs, Regarding the readme.htm, in the installation for Windows 2000, In case of my installation - first it asked for the file including EMGICUSB.sys, (said it needed) Than the wizard asked for Emgu8U2K.sys. And after that I the wizard disappeared This following chapter was not the fact of my installation. I was not asked to restart the computer etc. : · You'll be prompted to restart the computer. · After restarting, the "Add New Hardware Wizard" will open again. Repeat the described process to install the MIDI drivers. On Windows 2000 you'll get the following alert: "The software you are installing for this hardware: Emagic Unitor, has not passed Windows Logo testingto verify its compatibility with Windows 2000 ... " It is safe to install the drivers. The Emagic drivers are fully functional and there is no risk attached to the installation of these drivers on your system. · Click the "Continue Anyway" button. · After a few seconds a message box appears: "Completing the Hardware Update Wizard". · Click "Finish" · The installation was completed successfully. Sincerly, Sveinbjörn Hilmarsson

Subject: Karma module doesn't work
Message #14800
Has anyone got this to work? All it does is recognize the Karma is there but won't send or receive anything? Is this just another half-baked nonworking module?
