That's the only reason I didn't upgrade my SD Virus to the full version yet. As long as I can't be sure there'll be an OSX version, I wont spend the money for it. Maybe it'll be integrated into OS 10.3 (that would be cool!). There's a path in OSX that gives me hope: "/Library/Audio/Sounds/Banks" (or does anybody know what we're supposed to put in there other than SD libraries?). Achim. Message #14555
First I want to express my thanks to Malte and Michael for fixing the Controller assignments in the effects of the Z1. That works great now. The same change still needs to be made for the "retrigger" selection under the COMMON section up at the top of the editor . This was included in message 13627. I hope this doesnt sound like constant whining . You guys are awesome

Mac OSX is no good for me for the road, so I'm looking at switching to a PC laptop. Having Sound Diver is pretty crucial, so it determines the operating system. I see some difficulties with XP in the archive. Should I go for Win 98? I'd appreciate all advice. Thanks, Adrian

Message #14564
Hi all, I installed the latest SD 3.0.5.2 and tried to install the Waldorf Q automatically. It didn't work, so I installed the Q manually. No problem. But when I want to request a comple bank of patches, after starting the request, the patches won't come in column by column, what's normal, but randomly (column 1, row 3, column 3 row 2 etc.) , but in the right place. After the request is complete some patches where blank. But I can rtequest the manually. Anyone else has this problem? Thanks Best regards, Mark Hofland

This means that SD does not wait long enough for the response from the synth or some parts of the response get lost. Unless you've changed the timeout and/or send pause parameter, this probably means that the MIDI buffer size is too large. You want to set it to the smallest possible value and raise the number of buffers so that the loopback test works without errors. If you have other delays in your MIDI setup, you should get rid of them ASAP. Meanwhile you can try and increase the timeout parameter. Subject: Diver/Logic troubles with my K2500R
Message #14568
After reading the manual, I am under the impression that I can select a track in Logic (say channel 3 of the K2500R), then switch over to SD and select a sound in the Device window, and that the track in Logic will switch to that sound object. This would be a great way to have a comprehensive overview of the 600 sounds loaded in my K2500. But it doesn't work. The only thing that happens is the edit buffer program number becomes the current program of the Through channel on the K2500R, and the track in Logic remains unchanged. I have made all the relevant setting in the Logic and SD preferences. Is anyone having success with the K2500R? I also notice that the key command in Logic to open up SD for that instrument does not work (i.e., fails to open up the Device window of SD, as described in the book). And lastly, editing my K2500R with SD is a complete mess. Things like pitch depth end up changing the keymaps in the K2500R. Has anyone experienced this? I cannot even begin to imagine what the problem could be. I would love to touch base with someone who is using Sound Diver, Logic and a K2500. My system is: Mac OS 9.22 Logic 6.1 Sound Diver 3.0 Mac G4 dual 867 K2500R running v3.02 MOTU MTPAV Any help would be greatly appreciated. David Gowing

Subject: SD Won't see MT4
Message #14569
Recently added an MT4 midi interface to my studio. I already own a Unitor8 MK1 connected to a stealth serial port on a Dual 1GHZ Quicksilver, Mac OS 9.2.2. When I try to add the MT4 to my SoundDiver setup here's what happens. In the install list I select the MT4 as the device I want to add and then hit "Add" and I get a second Unitor 8 show up as installed. If I use the scan function SD identifies the MT4. I then click add and for a moment the MT4 gets added to my list of installed devices and then changes into a Unitor 8 again. OS X is much nicer on laptops than OS 9. Closing and opening the lid works much faster, and the system is more responsive. Aditionally, connecting to different networks and transport (Ethernet, Airport, Modem) is much smoother, as you don't have to switch the transport - OS X does that for you. -- Beste Gruesse - best regards, Michael Haydn - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Dipl.-Inform. If you mean the program change setting in the instrument: no (I know, it's a drag that this is not supported). If you mean the MIDI output and MIDI channel: yes. Logic will choose an instrument which matches the required MIDI output and channel setting. However changing the program change is not required, as SoundDiver sends the patch data itself. In case you are AutoAuditioning a library patch which doesn't exist in the device's memory, there wouldn't be any corresponding Program Change setting. >This would be a >great way to have a comprehensive overview of the 600 sounds loaded >in my K2500.
