Hi,
I have several different Expanders and have been selecting the sounds to use
under "Prg" on the Gold Logic Audio 4.7.0 from the
"Arrange" window.
Finding that the choice of sounds where limited to 128 using this method I
decided to purchase Sound 3.0 and access the sounds of all banks.
This now works fine. I can indeed access many more sounds but I find that
using Sound Driver menus to select sounds is quite "Mouse
Intensive" and needs concentration not to change anything else by error
in the powerfull menus. Would anybody know the answer on how to easily
access ALL the sounds from my expanders without risking modifying internal
settings of the expanders and this with a minimal time and effort. If the
sound selection can be done directly from the Gold Logic Arranger interface
it's even better.
Thanks 1000x,
Best Regards,
Eric,
(Info: I may not have the latest versions, this is because this issue has
been a long struggle. If necessary I will upgrade )
Dear folks at Emagic,
Did any of you find time to look at the Win2K problems
reported in message 10572 yet?
Can you see if it's a driver-problem, or a bug in either LAG or SD?
If you need more information I'll be happy to provide it.
Best regards,
Henrik Jensen

Hey Don,
Thanks very much for updating that, you've made this MicroQ user very
happy ! Great work !

This is currently not planned, due to lack of interest (you are
currently the only one who asked for it).
P.S. please don't crosspost to Logic-users, your message is placed
very well in SoundDiver-users already.

After you have chosen a sound from the Program Change menu in Logic,
you can go to the next and previous program with the + and - keys.

Hi everyone,
Just a quick question
Has anyone been able to scan for new instruments in Windows XP yet?
I am using a Unitor 8 with latest driver and firmware update and it working
great in Logic and if I add an instrument manually it work fine too. But if
I do a search to find new instruments it freezes and I have to close
Sounddiver.
Also when I use the Unitor 8 software 3.04 it freezes looking for the Unitor
8.
Anyone else has this problem or a suggestion
System:
PIII
Windows XP Professional
Delta 1010
Unitor 8 Serial Port
Sounddiver 3.04
Logic Plat 4.8.1
Thanks
Mark
Sdd 3.0.4 Windows
Hello!
I´ve found that Sdd keps a library open after saving it (manually or
automatically) until closing Sdd.
Now the problem was:
The computer crashed while Sdd was running (and a lib was saved) and
after restarting the lib was gone (Scandisk: Lost clusters found,
diskspace made free...), means there was only a lib with size 0.
If this is the usual result of a system hang I think this behaviour
is quite dangerous.
And there´s another problem with libraries:
If a lib cannot be found (maybe for the reason above) the order of
the other libs get disordered. It seems that the missing lib will
simply be replaced by the remaining ones.
This is quite annoying when trying to keep order using several
instruments with many libs (subfolders in libs would be very helpful
to have structural access to many sounds!)

I confirm this. Will this be solved in the next update?

Probably they don't freeze, but just take very long for scanning.
This is due to a difference in memory handling between Windows 9x and
NT. Workaround: set SoundDiver's input buffer size to 1 KB.

Does anyone know if SoundDiver authorisation will be covered with the new
LAMP 5.0 dongle?
It'd be nice to put an end to those CD authorisations completely.
ok, so I called the Emagic USA technical support line and told them
that when I run Logic first, then SoundDiver that it does not detect
my NordLead 2, and that I cannot choose a patch from the library. The
support person told me this: "yeah, that has never worked very well.
I can't get it to work. uh... sorry".
What kind of support is this? What does he mean it doesn't work?
Isn't that the basic funtionality of the program is as a library to
select patches from while you are working on a song?????
What the heck is going on here????

Hi, Im trying to use SD on an access virus to control the patches,
while rerouting it to cubase on a seperate machine to do the
recording. I have isolated my problem to the following. Sounddiver
on the one machine will run the note on messages thru, but will
restrict the flow of the sysex messages that are the "controller"
msgs...ie filter etc.
I know this is not the motu, because when placed on bypass it works
fine. However, when I'm connected to the 95 machine, the sysex will
not go thru to the other machine.
Im running win95, with a pocket express and SD.
any help would be GREATLY appreciated....

SoundDiver's MIDI Thru function filters out SysEx and Program Change
messages. Why don't you run SoundDiver on the same machine as Cubase?

Folks,
Trying to get the XV-88 Module to do it's thing on my Win98 PIII 800
system, and I'm stumped. This thing is Beta, so I don't know whether
I'm missing something or It is. Can anyone help?
It DOES:
- Sucessfully "Request" the memory contents and display them
- Allow patch and performance edits and save them (Sweet!)
- Do "something" in Auto-link mode
It DOESN'T:
- Allow me to simply select a patch in Sounddiver and have it be
selected on the XV. I have to explicitly request it, and even this
doesn't work for User pathes. For those, I get dumped into
Performance mode with the patch I selected inserted as the active
Part. This sucks. I would think that with AutoPlay on, I SHOULD get
a midi out blip on my LED and see the selected Patch get selected on
the XV with just a single click on a Patch (or Performance).
- Succesfully give Logic a clue about what's inside the XV. When
I do the "Set Logic Instrument" thing, it creates a GM device with
the generic GM patches, even though the XV is the current device in
Sounddiver. The current track gets switched to All Channels, but my
XV memory contents are nowhere to be found (In Logic). The manual
says that the instrument should show up in the Instruments layer of
the Environment. It doesn't....?
Any advice is welcome.
Michael, thanks for the super speedy reply...
I have tried to run cubase and SD on the same machine, but I always
seem to run into problems...i think my machine may be a little low on
the resource side of things...
one thing that Im wondering is whether I need to run something
similar to hubis loopback in order to get them both to work, if not,
then how do I route the sysex msgs to cubase from SD?
thanks in advance,
Benjamin

No, it doesn't. It's the way it is designed. But I admit that it's a FAQ
meanwhile. So this is from the (upcoming) next releases help files:
Q:How can I audition a Patch or a Rhythm just by itself and not within a
Performance??
A:Before auditioning, click the Temp Patch or the Temp Rhythm Patch and a
small "E" will appear in its corner. Alternatively you can drag
the Patch
or the Rhythm on the Temp Patch or Temp Rhythm Patch.

You of course need to define the correct bank select messages for the
instrument. I created an environment with a lot of different multi
instruments covering Presets, Expansions, Rhythms and so on. It currently
resides under
http://www.sax.de/~gacki/Environment_XV.zip
and maybe you need to make a few adjustments (correct ports and so on).

I use Sound Diver for a long while. Now I bought a Yamaha 02R Mixer.
But if I install the 02R at the SD Setup, I get information, that
there is no Editor programmed. Is this true. If the modul is not
ready, why is it saled??? When will it be finished?

Only if the MIDI interface's driver is not multi-client capable.
>if not,

In this case, you still need Hubi's. You define a virtual MIDI cable
and select it as the output in SoundDiver for the device you want to
record SysEx for. In Cubase, this cable must be enabled as input.
With Logic, this is much easier. You don't need Hubi's, and you
simply start recording, even from within SoundDiver (it can remote
control Logic's key commands).

This is normal. It just means that SoundDiver has loaded data which
might be out of date.

It seems in rare cases SoundDiver does not detect that Logic is
already running and communicating with the AMT.
I assume you are talking about launching SoundDiver while Logic is
running. Does it work ok if you launch SoundDiver stand-alone?
