Subject: [SoundDiver] Re:SD3upgrade in Oz yet?
Message #6126
This is a reply to #6120.
Cool 'cause the sooner the better, (even though I'm very happy with SoundDiver 2.1.3). I'm in the same situation, just waiting. I had to send my serial number back three times (thought I had registered on emagic's website) because they told me they had messed up at Audia, French distributor, then had to call a few times when I managed to reach someone...stayed cool...I just think it's simply not professional. The most frustrating was to go to the reseller were I bought Logic 2.5, an Unitor 8, and SD 2.0.8 and discover that he had two or three boxes of version 3. (I'd try to get the update via them rather then wait :/) The first nice thing would be that you centralised the registration database, notifying registered users about new updates, new products and not have to call every week and after two months discover that they 've lost you're registration, even though I had sent the mail, the registration card, and internet registration... and the second really nice thing would be to receive it before version 3.1 :) I can understand/and forgive shipping problems, weather problems, human errors, I know I'll get it soon...but in our every day work we are asked to be responsive and accurate and it seems that emagic and/or it's distributors neglicted those two components. I, all along this trip, thought I was dealing with a french administration. So please in the future, have an upgrade politic "digne de vos produits", meanwhile thanks for your great products and keep on rockin'. Cheers Sorry about these deja vu remarks but couldn't stand still any longer. > Bueller...Bueller....Anyone.....Anyone.... >> >> I haven't heard a thing from ELFA. >> >> Cheers >> Robert >> This message was sent through MyMail http://www.mymail.com.au > >Voodoo economics............ > >I've had mine for a few weeks now. Subject: SoundDiver on old Mac systems
Message #6130
Just to let you know in advance. Version 3.0.2 will include the following bug fix: +B GL/Mac. On most systems older than Mac OS 8.5, starting SoundDiver resulted in a message "The application "Sound Diver 3.0" could not be opened because "InterfaceLib--xxx" could not be found." (with xxx various names, depending on how old the system is). Minimum system is now 7.5.3 which you can download for free from Apple's web site and which works with all old PowerMac computers and clones. -- Beste Gruesse - best regards, Michael Haydn EMAGIC Soft- und Hardware GmbH SoundDiver Group Executive Logic Windows Developer Unitor8 Control Project Manager

You probably have a program change in the song which recalls the original, unedited Patch or Performance. This overwrites your edits. You have to remove/disable the program change or store the edited version in the memory location which is recalled before switching to Logic. -- Beste Gruesse - best regards, Michael Haydn EMAGIC Soft- und Hardware GmbH SoundDiver Group Executive Logic Windows Developer Unitor8 Control Project Manager

Subject: SD 3.0 CD reauthorization
Message #6143
Last night, for the first time since I installed 3.0 (and upgraded to 3.01), SD requested the CD to reauthorize. After it scanned the CD, I got a message that said something like "This version of SD is not authorized on this hard drive. Press "Authorize" to continue without the CD, Press "Continue" to continue, Press "Quit" to exit. I went ahead and pressed "authorize", and thereafter everything appeared to work fine. Did this just happen because I had upgraded from 3.0 to 3.01? Please say "Yes, and you won't have to worry about this again until you upgrade to 3.02." <g> Irwin

Subject: SDWIN 3.0 Headaches!
Message #6144
A. Caranaval scans as Vintage Keys, even when specific module is chosen for scan. When I try to replace the name in the parameters box, the icon disppears and a line on the setup page leads to an empty space. The instrument is not accessible after this point, and all devices must be trashed and re-loaded for an accurate setup. No name changes are allowed for any device. B. For the life of me, I can't get Auto Audition to work with the Proteus 2000 (or the DM Pro...it only works for the XP-30, and then only when the Logic instrument is set to the XP-30 prior to entering SD). Yes, the device ID's match, and the In/Out Ports of the Uniotr are set correctly in Sound Diver, and in the correctly configured multi-instruments in Logic. Set Logic Instrument sets the selected track in Logic to the SD Thru Channel of the Proteus for instance, but does not alter the programs on that channel for auditioning. The face of the Proteus reflects the program changes from Sound Diver to Channel 1A, however. Am I missing something obvious, or is anyone else having this problem? C. Susequent to loading, SD triggers a "Message Buffer Full" message in Logic. D. Need major help on how to set up the SW1000XG as an instrument. If anyone is aware of an SD expert in the Miami FL area that I could pay to iron out these kinks, I would be most appreciative. The system: Athlon 1GHz, 768MB RAM, Unitor 8 +AMT via USB, Yamaha DS2416 w/ AX16-AT and SW1000XG, LAWP 4.6.1, SDWIN 3.0, various modules individually connected thru Unitor and AMT

Subject: SD 3.0 - Newbie
Message #6146
Hi Gang: This question is more likely my stupidity as opposed to anything wrong with SoundDiver. I've actually had SoundDiver for several years but only with the release of version 3.0 have I decided to "get to know" it. The problem is that I'm not really sure if it is working as it is supposed to (and I'm refering to autolink), ie. I can update the program names in LAPW 2.6.1 using autolink no problem, I can audition different sounds from SoundDiver with it controlling the logic sequencer. But what I don't get is how do I get SoundDiver to actually change the instrument and program in Logic. There is a menu item, something like "Set Logic instrument" which I assumed would change the instrument in Logic - not for me. Are you supposed to set the instrument manually? This seems kind of silly. Or is that what "Save as Logic song" or whatever is for. (Excuse if I've got these menus wrong, I'm not at my music station). Any insight would be appreciated. The user guide they give you on the cd amounts to chapter 3 of the owners manual that comes with SoundDiver if you buy the complete product. It's pretty useless. You can order the complete manual from Dave Smith at Emagic USA. The phone number is on the emagic web sight. They've had backorder problems with this and after waiting quite awhile I got fed up and just upgraded to the whole product. The cost for the upgrade was $100.00 plus shipping but now I can add other devices to the system. Interestingly the only other midi device I have is a Boss VF-1 which is not currently supported.
