Yes I can:
A preset: a ROM based settings location, which you can't store to
A Register: a RAM Based settings location, where the User can store his own
settings to.
These are organised in 5 banks of 10 registers (settings) ,
meaning the user can only store 50 of his own setting, which is way, way to
little for such a great machine... allthough you can buy an expensive
cartridge, which can hold another 50 of you own settings (registers). (Which
is again way to little.)
And this cartridge fits into the same slot, as you are going to use, if you
buy the LEX 224 cartridge (which, as a matter of fact, is just a key dongle
to unlock the LEX 224 algorithms Allready stored inside the machine (ROM)).
So if you have that cartridge, then you can't even use the memory cartridge
mentioned before :-(
So we really need sounddiver to solve this problem :-)
Machine A/B
The lexicon 480L is internally divided into 2 identical machines
(effect-units)named Machine A and Machine B.
You can in the setup determine, between a coupple of modes you want to run
the machine in:
1) Single: Onle one machine is working
2) Split: 2 seperate machines ( used 99,9 % of the time) (* Look below)
3) Stereo: input A & B is both routed each individual machine
4) Cascade: Output from machine A runs into machine B
On the remote (LARC) you switch between those with a flick of a buttom, so
you only need one remote to controol the 2 internal machines.
The LEX 480L has 2 physical inputs, and 4 physical outputs
In Split mode:
Input A is routed to Machine A, and
Input B is routed to Machine B.
Machine A also has it's own 2 physical outputs, and like wise
Machine B also has it's own 2 physical outputs , giving a total of 4 outputs
You can also determine what MIDI channel each of the machines shall react
to.
In my case, I've set Machine A to MIDI ch. 15, and Machine B to MIDI ch. 16.
The 480L has only 1 MIDI in and 1 MIDI out and 1 MIDI through.
Did this clarify something?
Otherwise you're welcome to ask again, or for more info :-)
