Subject: Multi users and prefs
Message #4037
I'm looking for some advice and recommendations for multi users and SoundDiver. I have ten people working from the same workstation (Mac, K2500XS, AMT8, 01v) and have set up folders for each with separate libraries. We have had some problems with the app crashing (of course whenever I'm not around) and several times SoundDiver starts up with the opening screen and I have to rescan everything. I've figured out (I think) that if I save the preference file and open up from that on the desktop I won't lose my scanned preferences. Is this true? Can you have a separate set of preferences for each of the ten folders? Do you then need to save preferences to that folder just before quitting? Is this the best way to handle this whole situation? Any advice or suggestions is most appreciated. BTW, the warnings about saving device entries as preferences is confusing; any enlightened words of wisdom for what that means for multi users would also be welcome. Thanks to all Peter Fischer
