Hi, On Friday, December 28, 2007, at 10:40 AM, "mm123 ah" <mm123ah@hotmail.com> wrote: > Mac Pro 4-Core > (2 Dual-Core 2.66GHZ Intel Xeon) > 1GB/250/7300GT/SD > Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard This is what I have. You really need to put at least 2 more GB of RAM into it or you'll be experiencing all kinds of weirdness running Logic. Also I would recommend downgrading to 10.4.11 (if ROM allows you to do that) or disabling Spotlight out of the box. > > but first i want to be sure im going to be able to run sounddiver on it along > with logic 8. im using a ton of hardware synths so i really need sounddiver. Depends on what you mean by "using it along with Logic"... If you mean the Autolink mode (or whatever it was called in OS 9), then no, this feature is no longer available in OS X. If you just want to use SD with your hardware synths, then the answer is "maybe", as SD OS X was dropped in so called "public beta" version, so some adaptations work and some don't. > > im a registered logic and sounddiver user but havent upgraded in a loooong > time. the dongle ive got pre-dates usb (!). Then just forget it -- it requires XSKey (no authorization needed, you just have to insert it in order for SD to launch). The only alternative I can think of is to run it under Windows using your disk authorization as you did in OS 9 days (not sure if it will run under Vista though). Best, Andy
