Subject: [SoundDiver] Sounddiver on a New Mac?
Message #17794
hi guys. ive been getting some advice on this over on vintage synth explorer but I'd like some more opinions. im planning on buying 1 of these immediately: Mac Pro 4-Core (2 Dual-Core 2.0GHZ Intel Xeon) 2GB/250/7300GT/SD Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard or this: Mac Pro 4-Core (2 Dual-Core 2.66GHZ Intel Xeon) 1GB/250/7300GT/SD Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard but first i want to be sure im going to be able to run sounddiver on it along with logic 8. im using a ton of hardware synths so i really need sounddiver. im a registered logic and sounddiver user but havent upgraded in a loooong time. the dongle ive got pre-dates usb (!). so, id like to know the following: 1. can i successfully run SD on Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard using Rosetta? 2. what problems have you guys encountered / what might I expect? 3. can I use the beta freeware without anything or do I need some kind of dongle / authorization? i periodically reauthorize from CD, not sure which version offhand. 4. anything else i need to know? the VSE thread is here in case anyones interested: http://www.vintagesynth.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t3991&postdays=0&po storder=asc&start=0 thanks a ton for the help mini
