Les, You have helped me tremendously! I have replaced the battery in one unit with a battery that "Batteries Plus" did the spot welding of the tabs for me. I would how ever like to use a lithium battery holder for the other unit. I did try the resetting you spoke of, pressing BYPASS and EXIT while booting the unit. That did make it so I can at least read the screen. How ever, when I go to system > setup > display, in the far upper righthand corner I see what appears to be the incriment levels " 1 _ _ _ _" . I can't find any combination of buttons or jog to change the level. All that I can get the unit to do is in display mode, change from name to info and the just below the level incriment bar is another incriment level bar that looks like this, 0------ When I move the jog wheel to the left, the "O" is all the way to the extream left. If I move it to the right, the "o" moves to the far extream right, and it doesn't move by incriment either. Could it be that I need a new backlight as you spoke of? do you know of a link that has a picture of the thing so I can see what it looks like? Thanks' Steve www.stevecoxproductions.com
