Subject: HELP!: Can anyone help me fix an adaptation problem? (SD 3.0.52)
Message #16659
I've had this problem for sometime now, which I've mostly been trying to ignore, but now I really want to try to fix it, so if anyone has suggestions, I'd really like to hear them. I don't think you'd actually need to have a Kawai XD-5 to solve this -- I think it's probably a very simple solution for you techie-types out there. Me, personally, I can't make heads or tails out of the programming manual... The problem is this: whenever I request a drum Kit from the XD-5, I seem to receive all the data accurately, except the PITCH data. Somehow, SoundDiver doesn't get or translate the key number accurately. What this means is that, while the note plays correctly, the PITCH assignment given in the field on the adaptation is wrong. Where the Kick Bass PITCH should read C3, it actually says C-2. I've found that, if I make changes to any part of the Kit, store and then transmit those changes, the incorrect PITCH data is then sent back to the XD-5, screwing up *all* the PITCH assignments in the entire Kit. I have the XD-5 manual and the MIDI Data Format guide but, as I said, it's all over my head. My assumption is that something is wrong with either the programming that requests the PITCH assigment or with the translation of the data received from the XD-5. Does *anyone* have any suggestions? I'm desperate to fix this. I'll be happy to scan the necessary sections from the MIDI Data Format guide if it will help. Thanks. -// --- Neil Marsh * Neil@... Cambridge, MA * http://AudioBoy.net
