This is a reply to #14789.

Last time this came up you gave the same answer and then there was a bit more conversation which seemed to result in your saying that as SD hadn't read it's preferences at this point then changing the prefs would be irrelevant for this problem. Then you said this - "It is a sound/WAV resource. You can replace it by a sound resource which contains silence. You will need a program which edits resources." Now call me a thicko if you like but I reckon that is a bit more than anyone should need to do just to turn off an entirely pointless bit of noise that occurs when starting a program up. I have programs a-plenty which edit sounds but I don't know what you mean. I get the feeling I'm not alone. There are enough things to contend with which are necessary. This pointless nonsense should go in your next update in my opinion. Thank you for your attention. --
