> There is a switch "Sound effects" in SD's Global preferences.
We are talking about the sound that happens as you are starting the
program up - NOT those that occur when using the program. Last time
this came up you gave the same answer and then there was a bit more
conversation which seemed to result in your saying that as SD hadn't
read it's preferences at this point then changing the prefs would be
irrelevant for this problem. Then you said this -
"It is a sound/WAV resource. You can replace it by a sound resource
which contains silence. You will need a program which edits
resources."
Now call me a thicko if you like but I reckon that is a bit more
than anyone should need to do just to turn off an entirely pointless
bit of noise that occurs when starting a program up. I have programs
a-plenty which edit sounds but I don't know what you mean. I get the
feeling I'm not alone. There are enough things to contend with which
are necessary. This pointless nonsense should go in your next update
in my opinion. Thank you for your attention.
