Maybe. While the manual is indeed for an earlier version there have been
comparatively little changes in the adaptation creation since then. So
basically everything still applies today.

Yes, perhaps it would be a nice "starting point". Does the GT-6
have a
complete SysEx implementation printed in the back of the manual? If yes
we'll start from there; if not it's not much more difficult but may require
a bit "reverse engineering" on the dumps.
