Subject: Which Would Be A Better Buy?
Message #226869
I have the possibility of getting some more equipment for my studio and I was wondering what would augment my studio best. Here is what I mean. I'm thinking about a UAD-1 card, or possibly Waves, or possibly an Apogee interface (I presently have a MOTU Traveler.) My monitors are Yamaha MSP 5's. I'm just wondering what would be the next "Logical" step to improve my studio and what might make the biggest difference in the quality of my recordings. I'm also using a AKG C414 B-ULS for most of my audio. Perhaps a different mic? I'm just mulling it over right now and thought I would get the opinions of people who know better than me. I have a Mac Pro and Logic Pro. Thanks in advance for your input. BTW, a friend of mine was raving about DrumCore the other day. Is anyone here using that program? Opinions? Thanks. fm

Fix the room and the monitors first! These will help forever. Paul

In your shoes I would be looking for better convertors and a decent mic preamp if you record live, acoustic sources. -- ha
