I can't get Logic Pro to send a program change command to change the Setup
sounds in my
Kurzweil 2500. I've tried using both an instrument and a multi-instrument
in the
environment window with no luck. I have also checked the Program box in the
Arrange
window. I'm using a Unitor 8 set to the correct port in the Arrange window
and tried
individual channels and "All". I'm beginning to think it might be
a setting in the Kurzweil. I'm
hoping there is someone on this list who is using Logic Pro and a Kurzweil
2500 in Setup
mode who can give me some advice on what settings to use to get this to
work. Thanks for
your help.
Make sure the 2500 is set to receive program changes (on the MIDI page), and
make sure to send a bank select message before the patch change message
(bank select - controller 0 or 32 - picks the bank of 100 patches - the
patch number picks which patch in that 100). So, to get to program 235,
send controller 0 with a value of 2, and then send a PC message of 35. The
2500 should be in program mode (not setup).
Good luck,
Jamshied
Thanks for the input. I can get the Kurzweil 2500 to accept program
change commands in the Kurzweil Program mode from Logic Pro as you
have indicated. However, I am interested in using program change
commands from Logic with the Kurzweil 2500 in the Setup and/or Q
Access mode. Is this possible and if yes, how do you set up the
Kurzweil and Logic Pro? Any additional thoughts are appreciated.
