Subject: [LUG] Using function keys in Logic Pro
Message #225531
Greetings! Can anyone here tell me how do I disable the Apple OS function keys to make them work as Logic key commands? I think there used to be a preference where you choose cap lock keyboard, but it's not there any more. to do this? Thanks! Hayes

Also, the Logic Keyboard uses function keys to switch between the toolbox elements, which is very comfortable indeed. I changed the expose keys from Fxx to ctrl+shift+Fxx on my studiomachine (or something similar, I'm not sure because in the end I never use expose) :o) which works fine for me. If you don't have any app that uses F-keys, it's nice that Expose is on them directly, and otherwise you'll want Expose to work with extra modifier keys. I'm quite happy with the way this works. :o) Maurits.

Yes, we all have our own ways. Over here I love Exposé, and especially with Logic ;-) The typical job for Exposé with Logic is to bring a hidden window into focus. Quite often I have an editor open, which is not part of one of my usual sceensets and when this editor is hidden behind a full screenset of other windows I pump the Exposé button for a while and we all get back into the good creative mood. I usually put Exposé on mouse button 3 (using multi button mouses from Logitech or Microsoft). With students that I try to teach Logic it's also good to have Exposé handy because these guys tend to forget what windows they have opened and they might have twenty matrix editors opened without knowing about it. Then Exposé comes in as the grim truth teller ;-)) Greetings from Sweden Per Boysen www.boysen.se (Swedish) www.looproom.com (international) http://tinyurl.com/2kek7h (latest music release)
