Subject: [LUG] Using universal automap on a remote sl with LP7
Message #225478
Hey Guys, JUst I heads up I downloaded the universal automap fro the novation remtoe sl series which is an update to OS 3.03 and I gto it working with Logic Pro BUT!!! fro me it didnt play nice with my other controllers I use a tascam 1884 fw and that is my main control surface fro the last year with logic. Anyway I follwed the directions down to making sure not to sum any channels in the keyboard object in enviroment. nad the remote worked but it took over even though they were on different channels and ports. SO I gto rid of the set up and went back to where i was. I am sure someone will find a work around but I just wanted to give you guys a heads up so you are not wasting even more time playing with controllers instead of music. Later!

Works fine here, but I only use the Remote and a Keystation pro, and the KSP isn't being used to alter anything, only the SL. I had Tremotes SL, xstation, UC33E, PadKontrol,Xsession pro all workin fine . I guess the !884 didnt work was cause it is set up as a daw controller in the controle surface panel

I've been interested in getting a Remote SL Zero, but was holding off until Novation enabled it to control plug-ins as well as virtual instruments. Is this now a working function with LPro 7.2? I can't quite tell from their website whether Universal Automap is working with Logic yet. thx ~ m

Hi: Don't know if you saw my query from last week, but I'm wondering if anyone can tell me whether the Remote SL / Universal Automap is now capable of controlling Logic's FX plug-ins (Channel EQ, Autofilter, etc.). Hands-on control of instruments is nice, but automapped control of plugs would be a semi-holy grail. thx ~ m

One must read the docs to understand exactly how to use the new wrapped versions of the plug-ins. As for Logic's plug-ins, they are part of the application, and because of this, can't be wrapped in the same way. Hey, thanks for the quick reply, George. So am I to take it that Automap straight up does not work for Logic's plugs, and that you must map them manually if you want to use a Remote controller to control them? If that's the case, is that very difficult? I've tried several times to get the knobs and sliders on my M-Audio Radium keyboard to make a dependable connection with Logic's plug parameters but have always ended up tearing my hair out. ~ mb

I understand there is a separate map for Atmosphere and other 3rd party stuff. I don't know about compressors, eq etc. Robyn
