Many subreleases are usually a sign of many bugs. Typically, software
subreleases do not have many new features. Rather, they are used for fixing
what should have never needed fixing. However, we all are, afterall, human
(some of us anyway ;-)). You may get some new features here and there but
they are typically small. You did not mention what all of these Cubase
subreleases contain. Are they full of new features or are they simply
bug-fixes? I'm not trying to put down Steinberg at all as I haven't used
their software in ages now. However, Emagic could release many more
subreleases and that would not necessarily make things better. I, for one,
prefer less releases but releases that are very stable. That way, I don't
have to worry about upgrading all the time and can concentrate more on
music. Also, I don't have to remember which of many subreleases had a bug
fixed and which one broke it again :-)
Fernando
p.s. - yes, Emagic could spice up their website a bit. The Steinberg site
looks cool IMHO.
