Subject: sync settings and configuration
Message #221994
i have a fireface 800, a bcf2000, a trigger finger and a keystation pro 88, and an emx1. i have sporadically received sync errors. "unable to sync audio and midi." when it happens, it is usually every minute or so. i THINK it has something to do with my emx and/or plugins. i have noticed that it often starts when i am fiddling with a fabfilter plugin and sometimes gets better when i change settings on my emx. it goes away, but i would like to squash it if possible. while i am at it, i want to pick the steadiest clock and use it to control the others. it seems to me that either the fireface or the emx would be the best candidates for master. i don't seem to have a very good understanding of midi time code and how to configure everything to minimize errors. also, someone suggested that the " master" setting be used on rme hardware instead of autosync. does that matter for me? the options seem to suggest that it is a sampling rate issue...and all i have on that front is a robbie blue preamp with no word clock or the likes. thank you.
