Getting in on this kinda late, but I have noticed the same thing (i.e.,
noise when recording). I found that I had to pull out the USB to my Firebox
interface, and then reconnect. The system yells at me a little bit about it,
but seems to deal. It feels like some sort of static buildup. Maybe I should
hook the iMac to a cold-water pipe?
