I like John's idea. I've always done it with a Switcher. This method
will allow any number of 'splits':
Each output of a Switcher is fed into a separate Monitor. One feed
from each Monitor is fed back to the Switcher via a transformer that
converts the Note On message to a message that raises the switch
position. Another feed from each monitor is sent to your
instrument(s).
Note Offs become a problem, so I split them to bypass the switch and
send them to all outputs. (There is a way of getting a transformer to
do this without first converting the data to CCs. I forget exactly
what it is right now.)
You have to have 'feedback' on the Switcher turned on.
Input
|
Transformer - Splits Note Offs and sends to all Monitors -
|
Switcher
|
| (multiple outs)
|
Monitor
| |
Out Transformer - feeds back next position message to Switcher -
The feedback transformer from the last Monitor in the series resets the
switch position to 0. If you set up an array of, say, ten outputs you
can always use less, say six, by altering the feedback transformer on
output 5 to reset the switch position to 0.
You can cycle all sorts of things this way.
Cheers,
Stephen.
