Subject: Hearing a delay and distorted sound occassionally
Message #221930
Hi I am new to Logic (running Express 7.01) I run a G5 (dual 1.8) 768 MRam with the M-Audio Delta1010LT card and I have a Clavinova midi piano. The card is new and has the latest driver from the M-Audio site. My problem is that when I play a note on the piano it takes a noticable time to create the sound on the computers speakers. It's like there is two sounds when the pianos speakers are turned up and it is really difficult to lay new tracks in on top of the older ones because it's out of sync. The distortion happens when I change instruments or add effects. It is like the system takes 20 seconds to accept the new sound and the distortion is the result of it sorting itself out from the old to the new. It's annoying and happens in Logic and iTunes occassionally. What is happening here? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks Blaine

Problem seems to be solved! There are G5 Macs that are incompatible with the Delta series of cards and I have one of them! I am now going into argue with both the Apple store where I brought the card and the aussie supplier of the cards. Thanks Blaine
