OK I admit it ... I confess that I don't understand MIDI ... and
despite attempts to sit down with the manual and conquer the
unknown, I fail ... I know some of you chaps are MIDI experts
and I admire your resiliance for getting to grips with this stuff.
I now pay the price. I don't know what has happened but my midi is
all messed up.
If I try to play the Motif keyboard, it now carries out commands
that my QWERTY keyboard should do, like some notes will play the
sound loaded in my logic song and then others will start changing
the screen sets. Also my US2400 console plays the sound set up in
the logic song rather than being a mixer.
I have tried resetting the Motif back to factory settings
successfully, but this has not cured the problem, I also reloaded
the driver for the Motu Express 128, and unplugged and plugged back
in the midi cables, but much more than that I do not know ...
Can anyone help, please?
Thanks in advance
Richard =)

Hi Richard,
I get this sometimes with my PB if i change around my midi/usb devices.
Particularly as in
the studio i have a Mackie control and out and about a Korg Microcontrol.
This is
exacerbated as the mackie (in the studio) uses a Motu Fastlane USB and the
Korg uses its
own usb driver. To solve this problem you need to trash your control
surfaces prefs
('harddisk'>Users>'yourusername'>Library>Preferences>Logic>
;'com.apple.logic.pro.cs')
the problem does return after a while though. The only benefit to this
problem is that, as
the mackie sends pitch-bend data as you move a fader, you can get great
'clangers' style
synth effects if logic screws up and sends the mackie data directly to
synths ;-)

Dumping all the midi preferences as you suggested fixed all the midi issues.
Thanks. Have a beer on me =)
