Subject: Controlling the volume of external midi devices from logic pro 7
Message #221828
Controlling the volume the volume of external midi devices from logic pro 7 I am using logic pro 7.1.1 with a mac book pro G4. I have a Nord stage 88 connected to the computer using in and out midi cables going to my Novation X Station 49 which in turn is connected to the computer via usb. I can record midi tracks playing on the Nord and then record volume changes from the Nord by turning its volume knob(s) but the midi channel strip volume slider on the arrainge window of logic has no affect on the volume of the Nord. I can send program changes from the arainge window to the nord but the volume slider on the arrainge window's (midi)channel strip has no affect on the nord keyboard. I have tried using track automation and hyper drawing volume curves all to no avail. Anyone know what to do?

You can monitor what MIDI is sent out in the transport window (cmnd/7). If MIDI cc#7 is sent out and the Nord still doesn't detect it the answer is that you have a MIDI CC#7 filter active in the Nord. If there is no MIDI CC#7 sent out, according to the monitor on the transport window/bar, the answer is that you have a MIDI CC#7 output filter active in Logic. Research, find out, adjust.
