Hi,
just wanted to let you guys know that Melodyne is now available as a
real plug in too !
If you are a studio 3 owner, it is free...others will have to pay for
it.
Only thing is that I can't seem to log in to the site to download it :-(
Cheers
Check out the web page for my band

Hi Jorma,
I too have problems with Celemony's web site. Their dynamic site
engine doesn't sort out the link request before my cookie expires.
Crap! This is the plug-in download page at the web store. I could
download the 3.1.2.0 upgrade without problems.

I also tried and Netscape gives a warning that the security
certificate for the link is suspicious.
?? Maybe someone has hijacked the Celemony site....

Hi Guys
It took a few tries, but I finally got logged in, D/Led and installed the
melodyne Plugin.
Nice it is too, so far, the "correct pitch" parameter has been
effective, pretty much
foolproof to use and has worked well on the material I've tried it out on -
male and female
vox. It requires a single playback to transfer the audio it is to be used
on, as is the case
with Melodyne itself, as well as some other plugins I'm familiar with -
Waves Tune, and of
course, Autotune in Graphic mode.
The plugin is certainly a nice present for Melodyne studio owners :-).
kind regards

Hasn't that been the case for a long time? I just downloaded the new
3.1.2.0 and found the same old "Melodyne Bridge". Wasn't that
plug-in
part of the deal even before this upgrade? Am I missing something
hidden here?

Here's what you're missing:
http://www.celemony.com/cms/index.php?id=products_plugin
This is the new VST/AU/RTAS plug-in, which is different from Melodyne
bridge.

The plug-in I have here IS an AU. Its GUI says "Melodyne Bridge Audio
Unit 3.1.2.0". Since that's the same version number as the upgrade I
just took I thought that the new AU plug-in was installed with the
same package. Or is it that the old plug-in has received a new GUI
that says the new version number of the "mother application"?
I sent a query mail to Celemony but received no answer, yet...

Per, that's the Melodyne *Bridge* plugin which transfers audio to the
Melodyne App.
The new Melodyne *Plugin* (v1.0) does all the Melodyne functions
within the host app (ie Logic) itself.
If you own Melodyne Studio, it's a free download. (and it's GREAT!)

Thanks! At least good to know I don't yet have the right plug-in.
There is an error message regarding my serial number at their web
shop when I'm trying to download the plug-in. Maybe that's because my
G5 had its motherboard replaced last year? Anyway, I mailed Celemony
yesterday and a second time today, so I guess I will receive some
explanation sooner or later.

I have almost the same question - except, , I'm especially wondering how
good the *time*-shift aspect of 'polyphonic' mode is in Studio. I've tested
Cre8 against Logic's built-in time-shift, and they're about the same
(although not identical, so sometimes I can use Cre8 without artifacts, and
sometimes Logic's is better.)
Celemony strongly implies that the polyphonic routine can time-shift large
chunks of full mixes without artifacts. (From the Melodyne manual in the
Tempo section: 'The sound quality that Melodyne is able to
achieve...astound[s] even hard-bitten audio professionals...." )
Can anyone corroborate this? (The 'astounds' part, it does't matter how hard
you've been bitten....although, then again, maybe these things are not
unrelated... :-) )
Thanks

You could always use the ilok option.

BTW The plug-in worked beautifully today. First time I was able to
really work with it no problems at all.

Today I finally received a mail from Celemony with my free plug-in
information. I guess there were just some web shop problems blocking
the download procedure, because now it went smooth. I noticed I'm
only allowed to unlock the plug-in two times while I'm allowed to
work with my Studio 3+ on three computers. Since I own three audio
computers I now have to take the difficult decision on which computer
should not have the Celemony plug-in...
