Subject: Re: Here's Why We Should Split the List
Message #11856
I know I started this round of the list-splitting debate,so I just want to clarify my opinion better than I originally did. but first- has anyone seen this months Electronic Musician Magazine? There's a mention of the LUG. anyway, for me it's more of a time consideration than a lack of interest in pc issues. I'm interested in the problems and solutions of the pc posters , but it seems that when I have to go through 125 posts in one day, I start reading them all and then after a few posts that I'm not "very" interested in, I go to the "page down" button, then I'm just skimming and end up just feeling overwhelmed and exasperated. also-It has nothing to do with the speed of my internet connection.(?) also-I don't understand the references to the "hassle" of subscribing to 3 lists- I don't know what could be easier at onelist. also- if there was no merit in discussing the possibility of separating the lists, why is there a logicTDM list? Maybe the best solution that would allow us to keep our numbers and not give the folks at emagic a headache-and in the while retain our community- is to impose very strict rules about subject headings. this would make it easier to skip through the messages you don't want to read before you read two thirds of it. I don't care what the system is but I think it's the best solution, so far- peace- ----------------------------- LESTER The Brick HitHouse Brooklyn, NY ------------------------------ ---- > As a mac user, I am spending an inordinate amount of time scanning thru > large amounts of posts such as: > > "CPU error too slow" > "how can I get my soundcard to work with ..."
