Subject: [LUG] Core 2 Duo RAM: 2GB v. 3GB
Message #220863
looking at either a mac book pro or a 24" imac for logic pro. little home studio paired with a focusrite saffire and a FW800 two disk raid. i'm aware that there's some performance benefit (memory interleaving) in these models by providing matched pairs of ram. can anyone provide feedback on the pros and cons of 2GB versus 3GB of ram. obviously you're getting more (and spending a considerable amount via the apple store markup) with 3GB. but the memory performance in theory would be better with 2x1GB chips. you save money but hit the memory limit faster. thanks for the input. -n.
