I have posted this in diffferent forums but have not had any help so
here goes again:
I have an drum loop on an audio track in Logic. I have a plug in
inserted across this track (usually Absynth 3 or Korg legacy FX).
I wish to use these plugins to process the audio loop. However, i can
only use the plugins synth engine, filters etc when the amplitude
envelope is triggered. (Put simply; Absynth and Korg Fx will only
allow me to process the audio loop when the 'virtual' keys on their
respective GUI's are pressed.) The only way to achieve what i am after
is to actually click on the keyboard and click the 'hold' function (In
Absynth that is). The Korg FX plug in has no such fucntion and so am
severly limited when using this.
Is there any way for these plug ins, inseretd across and audio track,
to recieve midi note on/off data from an audio instrument or midi track?
What about cabling? Is it possible to cable the output from a midi
track , with a recorded midi sequence on it, to the audio track with
Absynth or Korg plug in on, thus triggereing the synths engine and
enabling processing of the loop? I have tried this and had no success
but may be doing something wrong??
Why do auido tracks in logic have the cabling icon if they cant be
routed anywhere?
I would love some help with this one.
Cheers guys

There was recently a thread about that here. The conclusion was: if
you see your plugins in the submenu "AU MIDI controlled FX" then
yes.
If your plugin isn't listet there you cannot use it that way.

Basicly yes, but (see above) only if Logic supports it for that
plugin. I myself do not know if it is a shortcoming of Logic or of
the AU version of the plugin. Orren and Sascha see it as Logic issue
and they are usually right.

The MIDI messages of audio objects can be routet. But there are no
"active" messages, only plugin parameters or something you send in
yourself. Shame.
