Easy...
Install the Line6 USB audio drivers (the latest ones, that are Intel
compatible), select the POD as the interface in the Audio preferences, done!

I use the export to MIDI function to export a MIDI track. I followed
all the steps in preparing a region for export.
It won't open in any sequencer on the Mac or the PC. The exported
file does play in QT and Logic.
How do solve this problem?

Well it seems that LE is not properly closing the MIDI file during
the export process. Is there some change I need to make to
preferences or something. I seem to remember some discussion about
end-of-file issues.
