Subject: Logic Express and External Midi Gear
Message #220818
I have an Electribe MX. I set up Midi Channels to control the different voices and the setup is currently functional. I CAN'T GET AUDIO IN WITHOUT RECORD ENABLING THE INPUTS THAT MY EMX IS PLUGGED INTO! Aux Failed me. only internal sounds...which, btw, seems counterintuitive. i have found that "External" handles this to some extent in Logic Pro. Pshaw. That doesnt help me. Can someone here help me? i just want to have an "always on" track on a couple inputs of my interface (Fireface 800). am i doomed to record enable every track i want to simply hear?

There are no Input Objects available, and Aux Objects cannot use inputs as a source. Following on from my previous post ... you could use the Fireface's superb built-in monitoring to route audio from those inputs to the output(s) of your choice. See the Fireface/TotalMix manual. Tip: "submix" view is easiest to use. Thank you for the suggestion. that takes level controls out of logic, but it is an option. i really need to wrap my head around more of what totalmix can do though.
