Subject: [LUG] Re: where to store samples? where to track audio?
Message #220711
As for drives, I've always had good performance from Segate. The 7200 RPM, 8MB cache ones are fine. I never use bigger than 250 GB because it's more useful to have multiple smaller drives than less bigger ones. Both external firewire and internal SATA drives are the same devices. You'll get better performance from them on the internal SATA bus than external FW. That's about it... Kind regards ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Paul Najar -- so, paul... since i have 2 internal drives (one for all apps, one i¹ve been using for audio)... would you think it smarter to run BFD and samples off the 2nd internal drive and use the external FW drives for audio? anyone else¹s thoughts are appreciated... tv
