Subject: [LUG] Symphonic Choirs install problem
Message #219471
I'm having a problem installing the libraries. They have all installed up to the 7th nks folder (although I have not located #3 yet). At the very end of copying #7 to my samples disk, I get this error message: The Finder cannot complete the operation because some data in "EWQLSC_lib_part7.nks" could not be read or written" (Error code-36). I usually don't have problems installing software or libraries, so I don't know if I've done something wrong, or if I should try to trash everything and reinstall. Any suggestions? Nick? James

My thoughts are; Not enough space on the disk (don't worry i've done the.. no no theres plenty of space......oh) Permissions are screwy (unlikely as you've already copied some over) Or the dreaded hardware fault, check cables (espescially if its FW800, those cables suck) might be worth running disk utility (if its a SMART drive it should let you know if you have bad blocks of data). Try copying it to another drive (if you have one) if that works then its a problem specific to that drive (and probably one of the above) Hope this helps, Mike

I can try a different FW 400 cable, but unlikely since all other samples are ok > Try copying it to another drive (if you have one) if that works > then its a problem specific to that drive (and probably one of > the above) I tried this, and got the same error message when copying that folder to another disk (one that has no problem that I'm aware of). So, the only thing I can think is that maybe the Symphonic Choir disk #3 is bad? Thanks for the suggestions. I will try a different cable when I get a chance, but, as I say, all my samples are on that disk and I've had no problem. Any other thoughts appreciated. I guess the next step is to contact EastWest support. James
