Does anyone know how to record audio directly from a CD without going out of
your audio interface and then back in again? I used to use Cubase and in
that program I could record directly from a CD. Also, is there any loss in
audio quality by doing it this way? Thanks so much for your help.

Well, if I understood right, iTunes can import the CD tracks in AIFF.
It's an easy way.
